Expecting our second daughter in 9 days and still don’t have a name. Help! Big sister is [name]Robin[/name].
Thinking of [name]Brooke[/name] but I’m worried its too popular. I like [name]Wren[/name] but my husband doesn’t. We’re both impartial to [name]Maeve[/name] and [name]Cora[/name].
I never really cared for [name]Brooke[/name], but I fell in love with [name]Brooklyn[/name] when I was really young and it’s been on my name list for years and years. However, I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. [name]Maeve[/name] and [name]Cora[/name] are both really nice. I especially love [name]Maeve[/name] because of it’s meaning - “intoxicating”.
I think [name]Brooke[/name] can work really well as a middle name. [name]Maeve[/name] [name]Brooke[/name] and [name]Cora[/name] [name]Brooke[/name] sound alright.
I actually quite like it. I have a soft spot for water names and [name]Brooke[/name] isn’t an exception. I find [name]Brooke[/name] to have that sleek feminine quality that characterizes [name]Daphne[/name] and [name]Jane[/name]. As for popularity in real life, I know only 2 in real life, and they go to my high school.
Since your daughter is named [name]Robin[/name], I would avoid other bird names like [name]Wren[/name] to prevent a bird theme.
[name]Maeva[/name] [name]Brooke[/name] - I think it flows better than [name]Maeve[/name] [name]Brooke[/name], and you can still use [name]Maeve[/name] as a nickname.
[name]Mavis[/name] [name]Brooke[/name] - Same as above; also [name]Mavis[/name] means ‘songbird’, so there’s subtle connection to [name]Robin[/name].
[name]Cora[/name] [name]Brooke[/name] - Flows alright, but it isn’t speaking to me.
[name]Corliss[/name] [name]Brooke[/name] - I think the -iss sound flows into [name]Brooke[/name] nicely.
[name]Coralie[/name] [name]Brooke[/name] - [name]Just[/name] another [name]Cora[/name] alternative to consider.
If you guys end up choosing [name]Brooke[/name] as her first name, what kind of middle names are you looking for?
I really like [name]Brooke[/name] as well. I think [name]Brooke[/name] and [name]Robin[/name] are a great sibset, keeping the nature theme. Not crazy about [name]Wren[/name], [name]Maeve[/name], or [name]Cora[/name] with [name]Robin[/name]. If your worried that [name]Brooke[/name] is too common, what about [name]Bryn[/name]? Kind of a combination of [name]Brooke[/name] and [name]Wren[/name]. Also keeps nature theme (means hill in welsh).
[name]Bryn[/name] [name]Cora[/name]
[name]Bryn[/name] [name]Lila[/name]
[name]Bryn[/name] [name]Isabel[/name]
[name]Bryn[/name] [name]Maeve[/name]
[name]Bryn[/name] [name]Aoife[/name] (dont know if you wanted Irish names like [name]Maeve[/name], but this is pronounced EE-fa)
[name]Bryn[/name] [name]Willow[/name]
I think [name]Brooke[/name] is great! And I think it’s probably already peaked, so I don’t think you’d run into too many. Less common than [name]Robin[/name], at any rate. It is a beautiful sound. FWIW, I like [name]Lake[/name] too, for the same reason.
I love [name]Brooke[/name]! And I think it goes perfectly with [name]Robin[/name] ([name]Robin[/name] is amazing too!). I think in terms of popularity, it already hit its peak a quite a while ago. Only going down from here. I think it’s perfect.
If you like the B sound, I suggest [name]Briar[/name] or Bracken. I think they compliment [name]Robin[/name]. Although, [name]Wren[/name] is one of my favorite names.
[name]How[/name] about [name]Brynn[/name]? It’s one of my favorite names, and I think it’s a great alternative to [name]Brooke[/name] because it’s also a b name and short and sweet. It’s Irish and means “heights”. Pretty cute!
I think [name]Brooke[/name] and [name]Robin[/name] are a nice nature-y sibling set, though it kind of put you on a path toward more nature names for any future children. [name]Wren[/name] and [name]Robin[/name] sound similar and are too birds, so that’s much too close for my taste. I think [name]Bryn[/name]/[name]Brynn[/name] sound too much like the last syllable of [name]Robin[/name]. I agree that [name]Cora[/name] and [name]Maeve[/name] don’t sound the best with [name]Robin[/name]; it’s much more contemporary and nature-y than either of those feminine vintage choices. [name]Brooke[/name] and [name]Robin[/name] are best from this little list I think you could go vintage if it was much more spunky than sweet. [name]Robin[/name] would also work with some more unisex, contemporary options.
I’ve always liked [name]Brooke[/name] but it was extremely trendy (at least in my school) in the Nineties so I think it feels dated. But still a nice name. [name]Wren[/name] is really pretty but [name]Robin[/name] and [name]Wren[/name] seem a little bit matchy. I love [name]Maeve[/name], though.
Thanks everyone - [name]Brynn[/name] is definitely a good alternative to [name]Brooke[/name] as well as Brenna so we’re going to think about it. Appreciate all the feedback!
