So I really want to use the name [name_f]Veronica[/name_f], but our friends have a 5 year old with that name. My friend is the find of person who wouldn’t let it drop that we named our child after theirs (even if we didn’t). [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] has sentimental value to me, so I’m now looking for an alternative? Any suggestions ?
That’s too bad. So are you looking for a name that is similar to [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] or a name that gives the same feeling? [name_f]Verona[/name_f] is the closest alternative I could suggest, but it might be too close to the [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] you know. To me, the best part of [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] is the V - , so maybe another V name: [name_f]Viveca[/name_f], [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f], [name_f]Valerie[/name_f], [name_f]Vanessa[/name_f], Véro (nn for the french version of Véronique.) Is there another name that could give the same sentimental value? Is this after a person?
I like [name_f]Vera[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_f]Veronica[/name_f], but [name_f]Vera[/name_f] can certainly stand on its own if you wanted. [name_f]Verity[/name_f] is another name that is somewhat similar to [name_f]Veronica[/name_f], related through their meanings: “true image” and “truth”.
According to Wikipedia, [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] is considered the Latin version of the Greek [name_f]Berenice[/name_f], so you could maybe use that, although personally I think [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] is a whole lot prettier than [name_f]Berenice[/name_f].
My next suggestion is a bit of a stretch, but there is some thought that [name_m]Saint[/name_m] [name_f]Veronica[/name_f]'s real name was Seraphia. Totally different from [name_f]Veronica[/name_f], I know, but depending on how [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] has sentimental value to you, it could maybe work as an honor name.
I also like the previous suggestion of [name_f]Verona[/name_f], if it is the sound you really like about [name_f]Veronica[/name_f]. In the same vein, there’s also [name_f]Nicole[/name_f]/[name_f]Nicolette[/name_f], [name_f]Monica[/name_f], [name_u]Dominique[/name_u], [name_f]Monique[/name_f], [name_f]Sharona[/name_f], [name_f]Rhonda[/name_f], and [name_f]Rhoda[/name_f].
.
Yeah it’s after a person, and unfortunately I don’t know their middle. I don’t know why I like [name_f]Veronica[/name_f], it just has a beautiful sound to it. I’ve had it only my list for years before I knew these friends. I kinda do like veronique but unsure if it’s an easy name to say. Thanks for the suggestions of other names
I can’t use [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] or [name_f]Valerie[/name_f], close family already have those names and I am not a fan of the other two thanks for your help though
I don’t know…a name that gives me the same feel as [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] is [name_u]Teagan[/name_u].
[name_f]Verity[/name_f], [name_f]Veronique[/name_f], [name_f]Verona[/name_f], [name_f]Verone[/name_f], [name_f]Verena[/name_f] / [name_f]Verina[/name_f], [name_u]Verdi[/name_u], [name_f]Venetia[/name_f], [name_f]Velda[/name_f], [name_f]Venezia[/name_f], [name_f]Viola[/name_f], [name_f]Venita[/name_f], [name_f]Verene[/name_f], [name_f]Viveca[/name_f] / [name_f]Vivica[/name_f], [name_f]Vera[/name_f], [name_f]Valencia[/name_f], [name_f]Victoria[/name_f], [name_f]Valley[/name_f], [name_u]Valo[/name_u], [name_u]Vesper[/name_u], [name_f]Veva[/name_f], [name_f]Veta[/name_f], [name_f]Nica[/name_f], [name_f]Vika[/name_f], [name_f]Vina[/name_f], [name_f]Vinia[/name_f], [name_f]Vincenza[/name_f], [name_u]Vinny[/name_u] / [name_u]Vinnie[/name_u], [name_f]Violetta[/name_f], [name_f]Vita[/name_f], [name_f]Viv[/name_f], [name_f]Vonni[/name_f] / [name_f]Vonnie[/name_f], [name_u]Vrai[/name_u], [name_u]Roni[/name_u], [name_f]Ronia[/name_f], [name_f]Veron[/name_f].
A bit more of a stretch:
[name_f]Bronwen[/name_f], [name_u]Aeron[/name_u], [name_f]Bronte[/name_f], [name_f]Fronnie[/name_f], [name_f]Petrona[/name_f], [name_f]Madrona[/name_f], [name_f]Merrona[/name_f], Murron, [name_u]Marron[/name_u], [name_f]Merona[/name_f], [name_f]Saffron[/name_f], [name_u]Nicola[/name_u], [name_f]Nicolette[/name_f], [name_f]Nicole[/name_f], [name_u]Nico[/name_u], [name_f]Nicoline[/name_f].
What about [name_f]Ramona[/name_f]?
