[name_u]Alexis[/name_u] will definitely be seen as a girl name by most in the US, but it is very common for males every where else, so I say go for it. It’s also in the top 500 in the US, so there are boys being named [name_u]Alexis[/name_u]. He will likely go by [name_u]Alex[/name_u] anyway.

Thanks for the suggestions . [name_m]Axel[/name_m] was one of our favorite names but got lot of negative feedback’s from families and friends as it sounds like a car part
Thanks for the suggestions , Alexie is good . yes I think we need to stick with [name_u]Alexis[/name_u]
Thanks for the suggestions .We thought about [name_m]Leo[/name_m] and [name_m]Miles[/name_m] , they are very nice names , but seeing the support for [name_u]Alexis[/name_u] for boy name here I think we need to stick with that
I’ve known many male & female [name_u]Alexis[/name_u]. One guy is spelled [name_u]Alexius[/name_u] but pronounced the same ([name_u]Alexius[/name_u]/[name_u]Alexios[/name_u] seems to be a male-only version). I don’t hear [name_u]Alexis[/name_u] as much as I used to so Americans are tiring of it on girls. For a boy [name_u]Alexis[/name_u] is refreshing.
I love [name_u]Alexis[/name_u]! To me, it is a boy’s name, but I know it is used for girls too in the US. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you say “ah-[name_u]LEX[/name_u]-ee” or “ah-[name_u]LEX[/name_u]-iss”? I’ve heard it both ways and like both, but perhaps the latter sounds a bit more masculine?
[name_m]Alexei[/name_m]/[name_f]Aleksey[/name_f] “ah-lex-AY” or “ah-[name_u]LEX[/name_u]-ee” was going to be my suggestion as well. I love it, and yes - it is Russian/Eastern European in origin. [name_m]Axel[/name_m] is a fabulous name too and definitely very masculine-sounding. But I’m glad to see that you’re sticking to your guns on [name_u]Alexis[/name_u]! Nothing wrong with using a unisex name for a boy, and you’ve chosen a beautiful one
We thought about Alexie but it’s more of a Russian name , there are couple of Russian sportsperson with that name .[name_u]Alexis[/name_u] was the only name both me and my spouse liked as we don’t want any trendy / common names .
Thanks . Nice to see the support here for [name_u]Alexis[/name_u] as boy name . We had almost given up [name_u]Alexis[/name_u] before posting here and was looking for some other names . We have been searching names for the last 5 + months .
We again had to change from [name_u]Alexis[/name_u] to something new after finding recently there are more [name_u]Alexis[/name_u] as girl names than boys than we expected
What is the correct pronunciation for ’ [name_m]Axel[/name_m] ’ in US , Is it pronounced exactly same as ’ Axle ’ , it seems different countries have their own versions .
Another one we considering is ‘[name_u]Aiden[/name_u]’ .We are looking for names starting with "A '. last name will be [name_m]Joseph[/name_m]
