Hi! I’m due in [name_u]December[/name_u]. If we have a girl, her middle name will be [name_f]Stephanie[/name_f] after my sister.
My absolute favourite name is [name_f]Emily[/name_f], but it’s too popular for me to use (half my friend group in school had the same first name so determined to avoid that!) and a bit rhymey with [name_f]Stephanie[/name_f] anyway. I also love [name_f]Averie[/name_f] / [name_u]Avery[/name_u], but again, [name_f]Averie[/name_f] [name_f]Stephanie[/name_f] just feels a bit silly.
Help please!
Other names I like but am not totally sure of for an idea of style (and feel free to hit me with opinions on these):
[name_f]Elena[/name_f]
[name_f]Maya[/name_f]
[name_u]Maria[/name_u]
[name_u]Nova[/name_u]
I’m not married to the -a ending, but it does seem to be a theme so far. Any help appreciated!
I like [name_u]Maria[/name_u] [name_f]Stephanie[/name_f]. I’m an [name_f]Emily[/name_f] and I haven’t come across any little Emilys, only Emmas and Amelias.
Oh, [name_f]Emily[/name_f] is lovely! I know a few my age but no little Emilys, and it’s such a great name. If you don’t find something you love more, you could look at your state’s rankings to see exactly how popular it is in your area; based on the national stats, the odds of your daughter being one of multiple Emilys in her class are actually pretty small (well under 1% in a class of 25, if I’m doing my math right!). That said, I completely understand if you’d like something a bit more unusual, and I agree with you that the flow of [name_f]Emily[/name_f] [name_f]Stephanie[/name_f] isn’t quite perfect. From the rest of your list, my favorite is [name_f]Maya[/name_f]. [name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_f]Stephanie[/name_f] is such a lovely combo! I also really like [name_f]Elena[/name_f]. Maybe:
I was going to say exactly this! [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_f]Stephanie[/name_f] fits the bill for you. Another option is [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] which is not nearly as popular but it has the “ie” ending issue again, so maybe [name_f]Amalia[/name_f]?
I should’ve really said this at the beginning, but I’m in [name_f]Scotland[/name_f], where [name_f]Emily[/name_f] has been consistently top 3 for years and years now, so it’s definitely too popular unfortunately. [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] and [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] are both very popular too. I do love them though! Thank you so much for all your suggestions so far - I’m going to read through them some more and try writing them down and saying them in my head a lot and see where I end up!
I like [name_u]Maria[/name_u] [name_f]Stephanie[/name_f].
