Alternatives to Dylan and Lucas?

My DH and I really love the names [name]Dylan[/name] and [name]Lucas[/name]. However, we both feel that these names are just too popular and have started looking for alternatives. We would really like to avoid anything in the top 50.

The baby’s mn will be [name]Dae[/name] Hyun (means “great” and “honor” in Korean).

I think [name]Griffin[/name] is such a cool name! Same with [name]Simon[/name]. [name]Peter[/name] is virtually unheard of nowadays. It’s ready for a comeback!

My best friends name is [name]Jared[/name] [name]Patrick[/name], two of the names on your list. He’s a great guy! Musically inclined, very creative, friendly, sympathetic and passionate. Couldn’t go wrong with either of those choices!

I ran the list of names by my DH. We really like [name]Jared[/name], but would it be weird to use when our names are [name]Jennifer[/name] and [name]James[/name]? Is that too much J?

I still love [name]Jared[/name]! I know a family with three children- triplets. All of their names [including the parents] start with ‘J’. If anything was a ‘J’ overload, it would be that! But I’ve never heard anything negative about it at al! If anything, people think it’s clever and cute. So that’s still my first choice. He loves his name too. Second choice from your list would be [name]Griffin[/name].

I really love [name]Jared[/name]. Our son was almost [name]Jared[/name] (with [name]Patrick[/name] as a mn as it happens after DH’s grandad!) but we went with my long time favourite [name]Saul[/name] in the end. With your names both being J’s ideally I’d pick a none J fn but if it’s your favourite I think you should go for it. [name]Griffin[/name] is a great name and I love both [name]Griff[/name] and [name]Finn[/name] as nn.
I think [name]Brendan[/name] sounds a bit rhymey with your mn but it’s probably more important how it sounds with your surname.
[name]Corbin[/name]'s not really my style.
