I love [name_u]Genesis[/name_u]. I really do. But the amount of little girls I have met with this name is overwhelming. I don’t quite know what an alternative could be. Maybe something with a similar meaning? I don’t know. I guess I can put it in my guilty pleasure pile. What makes you think of [name_u]Genesis[/name_u]? Anything with a similar feel?
The first thing that comes to my mind is Genevieve. And then there’s also Genny, Gennah, Ginny…
[name_f]Ginevra[/name_f] is pretty.
[name_f]Trinity[/name_f] is in a similar style to [name_u]Genesis[/name_u] and seems to reflect a certain [name_m]New[/name_m]-Christianity feel? [name_u]Eden[/name_u] is more generally Abrahamic.
I’m fond of [name_u]Gemini[/name_u], which has not much to do with [name_u]Genesis[/name_u] meaning-wise but a similar sound and quirky word-name style.
I am extremely fond of [name_f]Gillian[/name_f] and it’s smooth rounded-off sound and -n ending, but I’m not sure it has the modern feel you might be after. But if you’re after a level of rarity, it’s a ‘real name’ that’s very underused.
Perhaps [name_f]Geneva[/name_f]?
You have some great suggestions already!

Ooh, I [name_f]DO[/name_f] have some goodies…probably should have mentioned that I don’t like [name_u]Genesis[/name_u] because of the Biblical association, but just rather the meaning and sound.
@dearest, may I ask as to where Emerence is from? Meaning? It’s quite intriguing…
Emerence is a French form of Emerentia, the name of an early Christian martyr in Rome, so it’s a saint name.
Emerentius is listed on behindthename.com as meaning ‘to fully deserve’. Nordicnames.de lists the meaning as ‘to earn, merit’.
Emerens is a Dutch masculine form. I came across it as Emerentse, the form used in Norway in a relatively small area about 150 years ago. I have recently seen Emmerenze on a Norwegian 4 year old.
It’s one of my favourites
[name_f]Isis[/name_f] is the name I instantly found my mind on after reading your post. You’ve got the -esis like bit without the [name_f]Gen[/name_f]- part, it’s not overly common and it is such a sweet yet spicy little cocktail of awesome.
