I really need your help! I’m due in about a week and our baby boy still needs a name (for some reason I find boys names to be really hard!)
My husband and I have been referring to our little guy as [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] all throughout the pregnancy - I love the energy of the name, and also the meaning behind it - but now that we’re down to the wire I feel nervous about using it! I was thinking of making it his middle name but I’m having trouble thinking of a first name to go with it - if it helps, other names I like are [name_m]Henry[/name_m], [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] (which is unfortunately taken), [name_u]Theo[/name_u] (but my husband doesn’t like that one…) We could also use [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] which is a family name, but I’m not sure that [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] flows well?
I think [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] is a cool name! If you both love it, and you think of the little guy as [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] already, then my vote would be to just go for it. I really like the [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] as well, though, and I think it pairs just fine with [name_m]Hugo[/name_m]. [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] or [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] would be equally nice [name_f]IMO[/name_f]. Good luck!

If it’s just nerves/second guessing, my vote would be to stick with [name_m]Hugo[/name_m]. However, if it truly doesn’t feel right, [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] is a nice choice, or maybe

I think [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] works great as a first or middle name!

Part of the problem is that I’m living far from home right now (currently in Europe) so I’m feeling very out of touch with which names will go over in [name_u]North[/name_u] [name_u]America[/name_u]. We’re also among the last of our friends to have kids, so a lot of great names are already taken ([name_m]Sebastian[/name_m], [name_u]Hudson[/name_u], [name_m]Leo[/name_m], [name_m]Archer[/name_m]…)
