Honestly, this isn’t for a story or anything I just need alternatives for this name. [name_f]Kaitlyn[/name_f] is my name and there are 20+ other [name_f]Kaitlyn[/name_f]'s in my school 5 of which spell their names exactly the same as mine, and I’m tired of being just another [name_f]Kaitlyn[/name_f]. [name_f]Kat[/name_f], and [name_f]Katie[/name_f] are really out of the question because I know [name_f]Kaitlyn[/name_f]'s that go by those as well as some with the name [name_f]Katie[/name_f] as their given names, not just a nn. Seriously I hate my name. It unoriginal, and I want to go by something not so overused.
You could just go by [name_f]Kait[/name_f], I know it’s common, but at least it’s not as preppy-cutesie as [name_f]Kaitie[/name_f]. [name_f]Kait[/name_f] seems a little more mature to me. You could also go with [name_u]Lynn[/name_u], it completely gets rid of the whole [name_f]Kait[/name_f] part, and it’s very sweet sounding. If you want you could even just go with [name_u]Kay[/name_u].
Sorry if this wasn’t really helpful I tried lol [/FONT]
[name_f]Caterina[/name_f]? Similar to [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f] but without the popularity, bonus points for lots of nickname options:
[name_f]Cat[/name_f]
[name_f]Rina[/name_f]
[name_f]Tina[/name_f]
[name_f]Trina[/name_f]
[name_f]Kitty[/name_f]
Since most girls use the first part of [name_f]Kaitlyn[/name_f], why not use [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] or Lynnie instead? Another idea could be Kyn.
I know a little girl who was named [name_f]Kaitlin[/name_f], but her parents call her [name_f]Katya[/name_f]. I think it’s super pretty and original!
Thank-you I may actually use that suggestion. I could see myself as [name_u]Lynn[/name_u]. Its actually a family name, and a part of the reason I was named [name_f]Kaitlyn[/name_f].
[name_f]Kait[/name_f] or just [name_u]Kay[/name_u] were my suggestions as well. Or maybe [name_f]Kali[/name_f] or [name_u]Tali[/name_u]
What’s your middle name? Could you go by that?
Well, my daughter’s name is [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f], the Gaelic spelling of the name. We used to call her [name_f]Kate[/name_f] or [name_f]Katie[/name_f], but at 15 she changed it to [name_f]Kitty[/name_f]. Since [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f] is the Gaelic/Welsh version of [name_f]Catherine[/name_f], why not go with another version of [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]? [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f], by the way, in Irish is pronounced [name_f]Kathleen[/name_f], so you could simply go with that – in Welsh, it’s [name_f]Catlin[/name_f] (short a, not long a). When we lived in [name_f]Italy[/name_f], my daughter was frequently called Catari, a nn for [name_f]Catarina[/name_f]. There’s also [name_u]Kay[/name_u], which is a very old-fashioned nickname as well.
It’s pronounced more like ‘coit-leen’ or ‘kat-leen’ actually But yeah, the English ‘version’ is [name_f]Kathleen[/name_f].
Katiche? (Ka-teesh) It’s a variation on the [name_m]French[/name_m] nn for [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] (Catiche) popular in the 18th century.
I tried going by my middle name but everyone seems to think its a black dominate name, and I constantly get picked on for it. Honestly I don’t think its that bad but yeah. (It’s [name_f]Alicia[/name_f] by the way)
Personally, I liked [name_u]Kit[/name_u]/[name_f]Kitty[/name_f]. Maybe Catelina? It’s the closest version to [name_f]Kaitlyn[/name_f] I could think of. And of course there’s always [name_f]Kate[/name_f] and Ket. Have you checked out the list of [name_f]Katherine[/name_f]'s Variations on NB? Maybe you’ll see something you like there.
