Alternatives to Willow

[name]Willow[/name] is my favourite girls name of all time, it’s strong, elegant, feminine & peaceful. Unusual but not odd and with plenty of scope for cute nicknames…

But, it’s a total no go with our surname which shares the same first four letters as [name]Willow[/name].

So, having shelved [name]Willow[/name] with the previous 3 kids, we’re expecting a late summer baby and I’m back to being stuck for names! Give me ideas lovely ladies of names similar in feel to [name]Willow[/name], we live in [name]London[/name] if geography influences your suggestions and current children are named [name]Madeleine[/name] [name]Rose[/name], [name]Gabriel[/name] [name]James[/name] & [name]Nathaniel[/name] [name]Ray[/name] (middle names are all in honour of family members rather than being names I loved, although I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Ray[/name])

I really love your children’s names. [name]Madeleine[/name], [name]Rose[/name], [name]Gabriel[/name], [name]James[/name] and [name]Nathaniel[/name] are all on/have been on my lists in different spots!

To me [name]Willow[/name] has a completely different feel than [name]Madeleine[/name], so it is kind of hard for me to combine what you love about [name]Willow[/name] into something that goes along well with [name]Madeleine[/name] and brothers. The first one that came to my mind was actually [name]Elise[/name]. I think it is feminine, strong and peaceful, simple, elegant, classy… [name]How[/name] do you feel about [name]Elise[/name]?

[name]Penelope[/name] (with nns [name]Poppy[/name], [name]Pippa[/name], [name]Lola[/name], [name]Penny[/name], etc.)

[name]Willow[/name] is very beautiful, but it may become a bit to popular in future years. Here are my suggestions:

[name]Laurel[/name] – A sturdy type of tree, has the same charm and elegance as [name]Willow[/name]. [name]Laurie[/name] could be a nickname.

[name]Fern[/name] or [name]Fawn[/name] – A pair of soft, sweet nature names. Either one is nice and could even be used for twins.

[name]Rosemary[/name] – An herb name, a good alternative to [name]Rose[/name] or the returning [name]Mary[/name].

[name]Lilac[/name] – A bush plant that produces a beautiful flower and fragrance.

[name]Spring[/name] – A season name, very underrated in my opinion.

[name]Briar[/name] – Often associated with the fairy tale “Sleeping Beauty” and “[name]Briar[/name] [name]Rose[/name]”

[name]Marigold[/name] – A bright flower name

[name]Azalea[/name] – A new flower name that has been blossoming lately

[name]Saffron[/name] – A spice name, a very valuable ingredient.

[name]Clover[/name] – An up and coming nature name, very short and pretty.

[name]Marguerite[/name] – French for “[name]Daisy[/name]”, a nice alternative.

I really like the suggestion of [name]Penelope[/name] nn [name]Pippa[/name] or [name]Poppy[/name]!

Other suggestions:
[name]Claire[/name] - I actually know twins named [name]Madeline[/name] ( I much prefer your spelling, though) [name]Rose[/name] and [name]Claire[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]

Maybe if you had an idea of what mn’s you liked I could come up with more.
