Alternatives?

So I have fallen in love with the name [name_m]Cohen[/name_m], however upon discovering the controversy I am very aware at how this name could negatively impact a future child with this given name.

The other name I really love is [name_u]Kieran[/name_u], however my OH had a boss who he hated and this was his name, so he will never get on board with it.

Can anyone suggest some alternatives to [name_m]Cohen[/name_m] and [name_u]Kieran[/name_u]? I just can’t seem to move forward from these two, which puts me at square one because realistically both are unusable.

[name_m]Cian[/name_m]/[name_m]Kian[/name_m]
[name_m]Conan[/name_m]
[name_m]Callen[/name_m]/[name_m]Callan[/name_m]
[name_m]Kellen[/name_m]/[name_m]Kellan[/name_m]
[name_u]Kiernan[/name_u]
[name_m]Conal[/name_m]
[name_m]Callum[/name_m]
[name_u]Rowan[/name_u]/[name_u]Rohan[/name_u]
[name_m]Ronan[/name_m]
[name_u]Corbin[/name_u]
[name_m]Thorin[/name_m]
[name_m]Theron[/name_m]
[name_m]Soren[/name_m]
[name_m]Stellan[/name_m]
[name_m]Quentin[/name_m]
[name_m]Harlan[/name_m]

Maybe [name_m]Bowen[/name_m] nn [name_m]Bowie[/name_m] or [name_u]Bo[/name_u]?

Sorry for repeats:

[name_m]Callen[/name_m]
[name_m]Conrad[/name_m]
[name_m]Cole[/name_m]
[name_m]Clayton[/name_m]
[name_u]Tristan[/name_u]
[name_u]Cal[/name_u]
[name_m]Colin[/name_m]
[name_u]Conner[/name_u]
[name_m]Griffin[/name_m]
[name_m]Bennett[/name_m]
[name_m]Duncan[/name_m]
[name_m]Declan[/name_m]
[name_m]Ian[/name_m]
[name_m]Graham[/name_m]
[name_u]Sullivan[/name_u]

I see it’s already been suggested but to me the clear answer is:

Cowan!

A Gaelic boy’s name with the same/very similar sound and the meaning (according to google) “Dwells by the hillside hollow.”

As for alternatives to [name_m]Keiran[/name_m], [name_u]Keenan[/name_u] seems to be the only one I thought of that hasn’t been mentioned yet.

My first thought was [name_m]Koen[/name_m], but it’s pronounced KOON. Colwyn would be a great alternative to [name_m]Cohen[/name_m].

My friend’s son is [name_m]Coen[/name_m], pronounced “[name_m]Cohen[/name_m]” which is a diminutive of [name_m]Conrad[/name_m]. You could always use [name_m]Conrad[/name_m]/[name_m]Konrad[/name_m] with [name_m]Coen[/name_m]/[name_m]Koen[/name_m]/[name_m]Cohen[/name_m]/[name_m]Kohen[/name_m] as a nickname. What about a spelling difference of [name_m]Keiran[/name_m]/[name_u]Kieran[/name_u]? [name_u]Kieron[/name_u]/[name_m]Ciaran[/name_m] are both quite popular in [name_f]Ireland[/name_f].

Other names that have the same feel I can think of are [name_m]Keion[/name_m]/[name_m]Keon[/name_m]/[name_m]Cian[/name_m], [name_m]Keirnon[/name_m], [name_m]Cillian[/name_m]/[name_m]Killian[/name_m], Keelan/[name_u]Kaelan[/name_u], [name_u]Keagan[/name_u]/[name_u]Keegan[/name_u], [name_m]Colin[/name_m], [name_u]Cameron[/name_u], [name_u]Carson[/name_u] and [name_m]Callan[/name_m]/[name_f]Kallan[/name_f]. The feminine form [name_f]Kiera[/name_f]/[name_f]Ciara[/name_f] has an alternative ([name_f]Kyra[/name_f]/[name_f]Kira[/name_f]) which comes from a different origin, [name_m]Cyrus[/name_m] which could have alternative forms [name_m]Cyro[/name_m]/[name_m]Cyran[/name_m]/[name_m]Kyro[/name_m]/[name_u]Kyran[/name_u].

If you aren’t settled on a C/K initial, how about [name_u]Rowan[/name_u]/[name_u]Rohan[/name_u]? or [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] is a nice nod to [name_m]Keiran[/name_m]. [name_m]Tiernon[/name_m]/[name_u]Tiernan[/name_u] might also appeal to you.
