Alulquoy is the Chumash tribe’s, a [name_u]California[/name_u] native american tribe, name for dolphin. It also means “to go in peace and to protect”. A story is told that when the Chumash migrated to the mainland, their grandmother/god built them a rainbow bridge to cross to the mainland. The grandmother told them not to look at the water below when they crossed the bridge. Some of the tribe did look down and so they fell. Because of the grandmother’s great love for her children, she turned them into dolphins before they hit the water and gave them a mission to protect people peacefully.
Alulquoy is pronounced pretty much phonetically (ah-lool-coy)
What do you think of this as a middle name? I learned basic Chumash as a child and this word always stuck with me. The Chumash indians lived where I grew up and hold much significance to me, as do Dolphins!, and I think it is a quite interesting/pleasant sound. Basically Alulquoy in noun form means: dolphin; and in verb form means: to protect in peace. Beautiful meanings imo.
What do you all think?
I would probably use the combo [name_f]Violet[/name_f] Alulquoy
I’m kind of on a name bender tonight haha
