It seems everyone struggles with the boys more, but I find them a breeze… it’s the girls who have me stumped.
I do like Classic names, but they need to have a bit of Quirk. Though I love [name]Charlotte[/name] and [name]Elisabeth[/name] - I’m after something with a bit more oomph.
Anyone care to help a girl out?
These are the kinds of boys names I like:
[name]Hugo[/name]
[name]Henry[/name]
[name]Dashiell[/name]
[name]Louis[/name]
[name]Oliver[/name] (verging on too popular but I just love it)
[name]Edmund[/name]
[name]Theodore[/name]
[name]Oscar[/name]
[name]Frederick[/name]
[name]Ernest[/name]
These are the girls I like:
[name]Eulalie[/name] (This is the sort of name I [name]LOVE[/name])
[name]Penelope[/name] (too popular?)
[name]Audrey[/name] ([name]ADORE[/name] this but [name]WAY[/name] too pupular in Australia)
[name]Harriet[/name] (too serious?)
[name]Edith[/name] nn [name]Edie[/name] (too simple/ short with the others?)
[name]Beatrix[/name] (will it be too tendy?)
[name]Cecily[/name] (though not 100% on this)
[name]Viola[/name] (again not 100%)
[name]Clementine[/name] (love the name but hate the nn’s)
I love [name]Edith[/name] nn [name]Edie[/name] and [name]Cecily[/name] the most of your choices.
I also really love [name]Penelope[/name], but is it popular in Australia?
What about [name]Vivian[/name]/[name]Vivienne[/name]? I just love that name. Nn [name]Vivi[/name] is so cute.
What about [name]Iris[/name]?
[name]Hi[/name] [name]Susan[/name],
I really like [name]Iris[/name] as a mn but want something a little longer as a fn.
[name]Vivienne[/name], especially nn [name]Vivi[/name] is gorgeous… but I just think of the [name]Jolie[/name] Pitts at the moment.
I’m glad you like [name]Edie[/name] because it is my grandmothers name.
Someone else suggested [name]Cecily[/name] - I like it very much… I just need to ponder over it some more
[name]Hugo[/name]: I think it’s so handsome!
[name]Henry[/name]: My all-time favorite boys’ name.
[name]Dashiell[/name]: [name]Love[/name]!
[name]Louis[/name]: I think it’s handsome…
[name]Oliver[/name] (verging on too popular but I just love it): I love it!
[name]Edmund[/name]: So handsome…
[name]Theodore[/name]: I love it!
[name]Oscar[/name]: I think it’s a nice name…
[name]Frederick[/name]: [name]Love[/name] it!
[name]Ernest[/name]: I like the other names more, but I can see the appeal.
[name]Eulalie[/name] (This is the sort of name I [name]LOVE[/name]): I think it’s great!
[name]Penelope[/name] (too popular?): I love it! It’s #358 in the US, which to me, isn’t too popular.
[name]Audrey[/name] ([name]ADORE[/name] this but [name]WAY[/name] too pupular in Australia): Very pretty…
[name]Harriet[/name] (too serious?): I think it’s spunky, and I love the [name]Hattie[/name] nickname, too.
[name]Edith[/name] nn [name]Edie[/name] (too simple/ short with the others?): I can see [name]Edith[/name] the most with [name]Harriet[/name]…
[name]Beatrix[/name] (will it be too tendy?): It’s one of my favorites, and I personally can’t see it becoming trendy.
[name]Cecily[/name] (though not 100% on this): I think it’s pretty…
[name]Viola[/name] (again not 100%): Ditto…
[name]Clementine[/name] (love the name but hate the nn’s): Ditto…
[name]Love[/name] [name]Edith[/name] nn [name]Edie[/name] even more for you because it was your grandmother’s name! So pretty, you are lucky to have an [name]Edith[/name] in the family.
I try not to think of the [name]Jolie[/name] Pitts very often, but then I see their pictures everywhere when I’m paying for my groceries. But once I’m heading out to the parking lot, I am thinking about something else. [name]Vivian[/name]/[name]Vivienne[/name] is too beautiful to be ruined by fame. Besides, they have so many kids now that most people don’t know all of the names they bestow on them. [name]Pax[/name] and [name]Maddox[/name] stand out more.
[name]Love[/name] [name]Edith[/name] nn [name]Edie[/name] even more for you because it was your grandmother’s name! So pretty, you are lucky to have an [name]Edith[/name] in the family.

I want to echo [name]Susan[/name] on how lucky you are to have [name]Edith[/name] as a family name! My female family names are: [name]Phyllis[/name], [name]Millicent[/name], [name]Geraldine[/name], [name]Joan[/name]… Oh and my dad pointed out [name]Penny[/name](his dog growing up!LOL) Not gonna cut it for me! I wish I had [name]Edith[/name] and [name]Vivienne[/name] ([name]LOVE[/name]!)
I would also echo just how hard girls names are! I am like you, my boys list is done: [name]Everett[/name] [name]Matthew[/name], [name]Charles[/name] [name]Mark[/name], [name]Anderson[/name] [name]Mark[/name], and [name]Henry[/name] [name]Lawrence[/name]. I also [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Phillip[/name] and [name]Peter[/name] but our lastname starts with a P. A few others I love: [name]Edward[/name], [name]Frederick[/name], [name]Harrison[/name], [name]Jack[/name], and [name]Sebastian[/name].
A couple of girls I love and you may also:
[name]Josephine[/name]
[name]Evangeline[/name]
[name]Seraphina[/name]
[name]Elodie[/name]
[name]Eden[/name]
[name]Alice[/name]
[name]Elise[/name]
[name]Annelise[/name]
[name]Hi[/name] [name]Jill[/name],
Thank you! I really do love all of these names… just waiting for a girl to really jump out of me… for now, the only one that is really doing it is [name]Eulalie[/name], and my hubby isn’t too keen on it…might need to work on him
I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Mirabel[/name] and [name]Aurelia[/name]! They’re definately on the list
[name]Henry[/name] is my favourite boys name, too! [name]How[/name] handsome!
[name]Love[/name] [name]Edith[/name] nn [name]Edie[/name] even more for you because it was your grandmother’s name! So pretty, you are lucky to have an [name]Edith[/name] in the family.

I’m so glad to hear the positive responses about [name]Edith[/name]. It would be great to honour my grandmother (and such a beautiful name)… so it’s definately near the top of the list with [name]Eulalie[/name], [name]Harriet[/name] and [name]Penelope[/name]
As for [name]Vivienne[/name], you’re right - most people think of [name]Maddox[/name], I’m sure. [name]Vivi[/name] is definately one to think about.
[name]Hi[/name]! No need for thanks! I really hope you get to use [name]Eulalie[/name]. You may also like [name]Eugenie[/name]… I’m glad you like [name]Mirabel[/name] and [name]Aurelia[/name]! I love them, too!
I named my daughter [name]Jane[/name] [name]Violet[/name] and don’t ever regret it. However when I was pregnant I had no idea for boys but had tons of girl names, then when I found out it was a girl I became so picky that my list got shortened to about four names which were [name]Chloe[/name], [name]Phoebe[/name], [name]Sadie[/name], & [name]Lucy[/name]. Out of your girl names I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name], and who cares if it’s too trendy if you love the name… I also like [name]Viola[/name] a lot. Wouldn’t do [name]Clementine[/name]… [name]Hope[/name] this helps!
Girls are harder for me because there are way too many girls names that i like. boys are hard for me too,but because there are very few that i really really like. it’s harder for me now than it was when i was pregnant. I have a six year old daughter and when i picked her name it stuck and luckily my husband liked it. I’m not pregnant now but i think about names alot and i have found that there are just too many girls names that i love.
By the way if anyone is interested my daughter’s name is
[name]Rylee[/name] [name]Dakota[/name]
I found out in may of last year that i was pregnant but sadly i lost the baby. we didn’t know the gender but if it would have been a girl her name would have been [name]Kayli[/name]-[name]Wyatt[/name] [name]Mckinley[/name]. I know it’s alittle weird to some people but for some reason it was the only name that stuck.
Well since you like [name]Eulalie[/name] so much, what about [name]Eulalia[/name] or [name]Euphemia[/name]? Also, Olallie is a Native American word referring to Olallieberries.
I love [name]Cecily[/name]! So delicate! [name]Don[/name]'t like [name]Viola[/name] at all, though.
Nicknames for [name]Clementine[/name]:
[name]Clem[/name]
[name]Emme[/name]
[name]Cleo[/name]
[name]Minty[/name]
Cece
Darling (Like the song! Okay, that’s kind of awful. But I think it’s cute!)
I love [name]Audrey[/name] for [name]Audrey[/name] Hepburn! Excellent mn choice.
[name]Penelope[/name] is sweet, and it has so many nns, I don’t think popularity should be a huge concern.
