I was really looking forward to hearing what [name_f]Eva[/name_f] and [name_u]Ryan[/name_u] named their second baby, so I’m a little disappointed to discover she’s just been given her older sister’s middle name as a first name. Not to mention the dated middle name [name_u]Lee[/name_u].
What are your thoughts?
I like it! I did think it was “[name_f]Amanda[/name_f]” at first, but honestly, it’s better than most celebrity baby names. The name probably meant a lot to them to use it again, and I don’t think it is much different than siblings or cousins sharing middle names, which people would find odd as well. I’ll admit, I don’t like [name_u]Lee[/name_u] at all. I swear it has become the new filler middle name and I find it really bad on girls, especially with that spelling. But [name_f]Amada[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] does sound pretty decent.
I do think they could have done a lot better with the name… Using the sister’s middle as a first name is a bit odd to me. There are so many beautiful names they could have chosen. The only reason I see for it to happen is it being a honour name… [name_m]Even[/name_m] then, I think they could have changed it a little bit. However, I think [name_f]Amada[/name_f] has a beautiful meaning. In spanish it literally means loved.
[name_f]Amada[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] is kind of a blank combo, but as the previous person said, it is better than many other celeb babies names.
I think it’s lovely. I can relate to using the middle name of the other child. I would use my daughters middle name in a heartbeat.
I agree that I was rather disappointed at the choice. [name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f] [name_f]Amada[/name_f] was so striking and gorgeous that simply reusing a previous middle plus the boring [name_u]Lee[/name_u] is very lackluster and strikes me as being rather lazy. It is better than [name_f]Amanda[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] which is what I originally read, that would have been really dated, especially with [name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f]. I do remember that [name_f]Amada[/name_f] is one of their grandmother’s name ([name_f]Eva[/name_f] I believe) which makes the copy-catting a bit better but still, I felt let down. They raised the bar so high with baby #1 so I guess I should have been expecting a disappointment.
I have to admit that I was disappointed too. I know [name_f]Amada[/name_f] is an honour name, but honestly I don’t think that’s any real reason to reuse it - to me, it doesn’t doubly honour someone to use their name twice. But they obviously feel differently about that, and [name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f] and [name_f]Amada[/name_f] are undeniably lovely sister names.
Not a fan of [name_u]Lee[/name_u] - I don’t like any of the spellings, quite honestly, but I agree that [name_u]Lee[/name_u] reads masculine to me. It doesn’t at all fit with the romantic [name_f]Amada[/name_f] to me, and especially with big sis’s very frilly, romantic name. Does anyone know any more about it? I’m wondering if it might be another honour name, since it seems so out of step stylistically with the rest of their names.
Meh. As a Spanish speaker, it is weird to be named [name_f]Amada[/name_f]. [name_m]Just[/name_m] weird.
Let the kid have her own name… not big sister’s middle.
