[name]Hi[/name] Ladies,

I just wanted you thoughts on the name [name]Amaya[/name] (pn A-mye-ah)…Its ment to be Japeneses and mean night rain - but there seems to be some disagreement on this depending on what website you consult. [name]Do[/name] you think it is Japenese? [name]Do[/name] you like it?

I know spelt [name]Amaia[/name] its Basque and means ‘the end’ (not the prettiest of meanings…)

I think it’s very pretty, but from some limited Googling, seems to be more Muslim than Japanese (if that matters to you).

I love how feminine this name sounds…very girlie…

[name]Amaya[/name] does show as having these origins:
Japanese: [name]Night[/name] [name]Rain[/name]
Arabic: [name]Night[/name] [name]Rain[/name]
Basque: High Place
Spanish: High Place

I absolutely love that it is a unique name too, it isnt every day you hear of a baby girl named [name]Amaya[/name]!

It is beautiful and unique without sounding out there  I love it!

I love this name! It’s been on my list for quite some time.

I little girl in my son’s swimming class is named [name]Amaya[/name], she is very cute and I think her name really suits her. Pretty.
