Ambrose?

Opinions on this name? Aesthetic? What kind of person is he? I was trying to avoid repeating initials since I already have an [name_f]Arwen[/name_f], but I really love this name. It was the surname of a mentor of mine over a decade ago. He has since passed.

[name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] is very handsome and charming, with a majestical, mystical feel. I love the gentle but bold sound and it feels meaningful to you.

I might also be a bit biased as [name_m]Ambrosio[/name_m] is my guinea pig’s name and I love it! I call him Brosie, Bosie, Bro, Brosio and Bo!!

[name_f]My[/name_f] thoughts on Ambrose…

He has massively grown on me I think thanks to Nameberry I now really like him whereas before he wasn’t my cup of tea. I think I just needed to sit back and appreciate what a gem of a name he is. [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] is artsy, flamboyant, creative, majestic and brave. I love the dark academia flair of [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m]! [name_f]Imagery[/name_f] wise I picture gothic Victorian libraries, stain glass windows, a vast collection of beautiful first edition classic novels and dark bejewelling colours such as emeralds, royal purple and navy. I love the sentiment for you he’s fab.

[name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] is incredibly high on my list, he gives me cottagecore-nature-timeless vibes. I see a a little boy in the garden with a ladybird on his finger and tousled hair, or a young man in a [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_u]Austen[/name_u] type setting, genteel and kind. I love Brosie and [name_m]Bram[/name_m] for nicknames.

I love the imagery you all gave for [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m]. Definitely along the lines of what I love. I also love Brosie as a NN and I hadn’t thought of [name_m]Bram[/name_m]! [name_u]Love[/name_u] that one too! Thank you!

[name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] is so lovely! A candlelit walk through the first at night, roasting marshmallows by the fire and cuddling up to read a book.

[name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] and [name_f]Arwen[/name_f] sound lovely together and aren’t matchy, even with the shared initial.

It’s an uncommon name with an intuitive pronunciation but I’m not fully sure on vibes to be honest. I think [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] could fit an array of different vibes but more towards the preppy/vintage end of things as opposed to the trendy side.

@ceruleanstardust I definitely prefer vintage to trendy. Thank you!

I really like it! I think it’s very handsome and feels both soft and solid in a very appealing way. Plus, I’m a sucker for any name with an Arthurian legend connection, it just makes the name seem more dreamy + richer in its history.
