[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]-[name_f]Lily[/name_f] has been one of my GP’s for a while know since I love both [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Lily[/name_f] but together I love them a bit more. I just worry that it’s too tongue twisterish with all the L’s. I live in Australia so I’m not too worried about the [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] connection even though she’s the reason 79 [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]-[name_f]Lily[/name_f]'s were born in [name_f]England[/name_f] in 2012.
What do you guys think of it? I also quite like [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]-[name_f]Mae[/name_f] as a hyphenated name as well.
Hate the singer beyond all belief, and all [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]-[name_f]Lily[/name_f] reminds me of is her. I like the names seperately however. [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]-[name_f]Mae[/name_f] is the name of a dog I knew growing up as well, so that’s also a negative for me. I’m not a huge fan of hyphen names, but, a GP of mine is [name_f]Millie[/name_f]-[name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Elsie[/name_f]-[name_f]May[/name_f] or [name_f]Gracie[/name_f]-[name_f]May[/name_f].
I didn’t know there was a singer, either. I don’t like hyphenated names at all…I also don’t think [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] flows very good…
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] is so popular here and I dislike her songs. [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Lilian[/name_f] has a better sound and no negative associations to me.
I also think of the xfactor singer. And useful to bear in mind [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] may go by [name_f]Milly[/name_f] (if not by you her friends may choose this at school etc) in which case she would be [name_f]Milly[/name_f] [name_f]Lilly[/name_f]
I like both names. [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]-[name_f]Lily[/name_f] might be a little tongue twisterish but I love [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]-[name_f]Mae[/name_f] even though some people might find it a bit cutesy.
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]-[name_f]Lily[/name_f] clashes really bad. It’s a tongue twister and doesn’t have the best flow. I also don’t like hyphenated names. They are both lovely names when separated. [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]-Mae is twee and cutesy.
Agree that [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]-[name_f]Mae[/name_f] sounds cutesy. Seems like someone gratingly cheerful, you know? [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]-[name_f]Lily[/name_f] is a bit if a mouthful. I think [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] flows better, but either way it’s quite a lot of name with not much substance. The only consonants are three Ls and an M, so there isn’t much body even in those five syllables.
Sorry it took so long for me to get back,
@[name_u]Jess[/name_u] I get your point but don’t most people with a hyphenated name go by their first name? I don’t actually know anyone who has one they just seem so mystical for me.
@[name_f]Athena[/name_f] and [name_f]Janna[/name_f] I don’t get the whole Cutesy name thing I know two teenaged [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]'s and their fine and [name_f]Mae[/name_f] is an established name.

@[name_u]Jess[/name_u] thanks

@[name_f]Valeria[/name_f] I can see what you mean, I just like [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]-[name_f]Lily[/name_f] together for some reason I can’t point out why and I normally hate pop culture baby names.
I’ve never heard the singer’s voice (or any of her songs), but I do know that [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]-[name_f]Lily[/name_f] is super connected to a singer who won an X [name_m]Factor[/name_m] or whatever, and I know a lot a lot a lot of people will think of that. I don’t know if it would be as bad as using [name_m]Harry[/name_m] if your ln was Styles, but I still wouldn’t pick a name that really only has ties to someone that is a celebrity like that. I am not a huge fan of [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], but I love [name_f]Lily[/name_f], and I think they are nice together–it just strikes me as an odd double-barrel. I can’t see people calling her [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]-[name_f]Lily[/name_f] all the time. I think [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]–not as a double-barrel, just as a combo–or even [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] or [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]–would be lovely, though.
I spoke to a few friends who live in [name_f]England[/name_f], and they all basically said that, over there, naming your daughter [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]-[name_f]Lily[/name_f] would be as bad as having 5 sons named [name_m]Harry[/name_m], [name_m]Louis[/name_m], [name_m]Liam[/name_m], [name_u]Niall[/name_u] & Zayn.
I don’t know anything about the singer, I’ve never heard of her before. I think [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]-[name_f]Lily[/name_f] is very cute, I especially love Ashthedreamer’s suggestion on [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Emilia[/name_f]. If you really love the name I suggest you keep it on your list, it’s a dashing name in my opinion.
@[name_u]Ash[/name_u] I love [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] never thought of that. And [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]-[name_f]Lily[/name_f] came eighth on the x factor
@[name_u]Haley[/name_u] never realised it was that bad their were 21 [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]-[name_f]Lily[/name_f]'s born last year in the UK
@[name_f]Kyla[/name_f] thanks
From what I heard, that’s why there weren’t many born. She sort of has a bad reputation, and she doesn’t seem to be well liked there. It’s a bit like Tulisa Contostavlos, the name Tulisa is used a fair amount on little girls in England, but as far as I know, Tulisa’s perceived badly.
BTW, Amelia Lily placed 3rd during the 8th season of X Factor UK She’s Amelia Lily Oliver. None of her singles have done well previously, so they cancelled her first album, and now she’s in the midst of recording another. She was never meant to be in the live shows on X Factor, but when Frankie Cocozza was booted out due to drug use, Amelia Lily was voted back in to replace him.
I knew there was an eight somewhere. I knew she didn’t win though, she’s one of those successful losers I guess like One Direction and E3. We’ve had that one of our contestants in the current season who’s in the grand final wan’t even selected for the live shows.
