Amia as middle name for Charlotte?

We’re naming our newborn preemie [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] (for several reasons, but I also like that it means “petite”). For a middle name, we’re thinking of [name_f]Amia[/name_f], a [name_m]French[/name_m] name meaning “beloved” or “dearly loved.” It was something of a journey to have her, so I like having a name that reflects how much she was wanted. But, people don’t know or care about meaning when they hear a name - it also needs to be aesthetically pleasing and user-friendly. Would you know how to pronounce it if you saw it written down? (It’s [name_m]Ah[/name_m]-MEE-ya.). Is it too unusual? I’ve never come across anyone with the name.

Thanks!

I’ve never heard of [name_f]Amia[/name_f].
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Amia[/name_f] is a very pretty combination!

I do like the combo. I started pronouncing before I read the post, I was torn between [name_m]Ah[/name_m]-me-ya, or A-me-ya. I was more inclined to the first pronunciation.

I do think it’s unusual, but considering I have a name that only 11 people had in my birth year, I don’t think it’s too unusual. It includes that very well no [name_f]MIA[/name_f], so that helps.

I think [name_f]Amia[/name_f] is lovely, and its a version of [name_f]Amy[/name_f] which means [name_f]Beloved[/name_f]. I love the idea of including meaning into her name as I know how strenuous of a journey this can be and it will serve as a little reminder to you both of how luck you are. What about these?

[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] - “wished for child”
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Amie[/name_f] (variation of [name_f]Amy[/name_f])
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Priya[/name_f] - “beloved”
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Karita[/name_f] - “beloved”
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Vivica[/name_f] - “alive, life; place of refuge”

I think it’s a beautiful combo, and I had no trouble pronouncing it. I do not think it is weird in the slightest.

Simply beautiful.
