Amity as a nickname for...

…[name_f]Amethyst[/name_f] [name_f]Hailey[/name_f]? WDYT?

It could work as a “kind of sometimes” nickname. I would hope that you would call her Amythest most of the time, it’s such a pretty gemstone and name. But it would be a bit harder to use [name_f]Amity[/name_f] as a nickname because they sound the same but a little bit different, mean different things (especially since they’re both word names) and have the same number of syllables. It could totally work though.

Sorry, but that doesn’t make any sense. [name_f]Amity[/name_f] is a noun and also a name in its own right. Putting [name_f]Amethyst[/name_f] [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] on a birth certificate with the intention of calling her [name_f]Amity[/name_f] makes me go ???, and I’m sure I’m not the only one. It’s very random, and [name_f]Amity[/name_f] isn’t any shorter than [name_f]Amethyst[/name_f]. If you like [name_f]Amity[/name_f], use [name_f]Amity[/name_f].

Thanks. I think I’ll take the nn off my list.
