[name_u]Honest[/name_u] thoughts on this name - Is it too much?
Nickname possibilities?
How about with sisters [name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_f]Clara[/name_f]?
How about with the middle [name_f]Diana[/name_f]?
TIA <3

I find [name_f]Amity[/name_f] an underrated gem. It has a fun, familiar sound thanks to its similarity to [name_f]Amy[/name_f] and the ending of names like [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u], [name_u]Kennedy[/name_u], [name_f]Charity[/name_f], etc.
I really like the nickname [name_f]Amy[/name_f].
Not gonna lie, it stands out with sisters [name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_f]Clara[/name_f] just because those are more commonly used and [name_f]Amity[/name_f] is pretty rare, but it’s not a huge stylistic mismatch or anything.
[name_f]Amity[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] flows well and is charming.
I definitely don’t think it’s too much! It’s a sweet and pretty name with a familiar sound and usable nicknames like [name_f]Ame[/name_f], [name_f]Amy[/name_f], [name_f]Mia[/name_f], [name_u]Ami[/name_u], etc.
I will say it does stand out next to [name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_f]Clara[/name_f], both of which are very solidly traditional. The middle works fine!
[name_f]Amity[/name_f] is a favourite of mine - it’s so bright, friendly and zippy - kind of like [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] but less popular.
Would I expect it as a sister for [name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_f]Clara[/name_f]? Probably not. [name_f]Do[/name_f] I think it could work? Sure!
[name_f]Amity[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] is great
[name_f]Amity[/name_f] is gorgeous
[name_f]Amity[/name_f] is such a lovely name so underused and underrated despite being so bright, sweet and feminine. [name_f]Amity[/name_f] has the lovely meaning ‘friendship’ and just signifies harmony which is beautiful. I like the idea of the nickname [name_f]Amy[/name_f] I think [name_f]Amy[/name_f] is such sweet nickname with a nostalgic vibe. [name_f]Amity[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] is truly gorgeous very pretty combination working well with [name_f]Elise[/name_f] & [name_f]Clara[/name_f].
I received nothing but “amityville horror” comments on another baby site! I’m surprised at the difference of comments here- is anyone US and feel positive about it?
I think [name_f]Amity[/name_f] is so gorgeous! Unfortunately, I can’t say I would be brave enough to use it myself, due to the “horror” comments, but it’s a name I definitely admire. It would also stand out with sisters [name_f]Elise[/name_f] & [name_f]Clara[/name_f], but for that isn’t much of a big deal when you truly love a name. [name_f]Amity[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] is stunning.
I have to admit I had to even Google what that was!
I prefer [name_f]Amoret[/name_f], [name_f]Amabel[/name_f], and [name_f]Amy[/name_f]! I think all of those would go better with your girls than [name_f]Amity[/name_f].
The [name_u]Owl[/name_u] House has really made me love [name_f]Amity[/name_f], and I think hearing it more has made it feel more usable to me. It has a very pleasing sound, and I love the idea of nn [name_u]Mittens[/name_u] (at least for at home) and Amy’s cute too. I think it has a vintage vibe that fits perfectly with [name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_f]Clara[/name_f]. [name_f]Amity[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] also feels very strong and stylish; a lovely combo!
I love [name_f]Amity[/name_f], but I’m not from the US. It’s a lovely beach near me so I get summer holiday [name_u]Island[/name_u] vibes. It has a beautiful meaning and lovely nicknames. If you love it use it.
