Anahlía

So I adore the name Analía [name_f]Mireya[/name_f] Rivera but have received horrible feed back on the spelling because the first four letters of the first name form the word anal. I have to admit this is not what my eyes saw the first time I saw the name…I love the name. I am definitely going it the same pronunciation but am trying to eliminate the word anal, but must admit I don’t want to change the spelling. I think if I go Annalía it will not be pronounced how I attend it to be (like on-a). So the suggestion Anahlía was thrown out there and I am unsure if I like the spelling, still. Feedback would be great!

I don’t know who noticed that, but they are nitpicking which is silly and unnecessary. I would have never noticed that and most people aren’t going to, either. And so what? Are you going to call the child Anal? If not, then it doesn’t matter. Stick with the spelling you love.

Btw, I saw a post about the names Analia and Arabella on a different forum I’m a member of. If that happened to be your post (there were a lot of comments about “anal” being in the name), I wouldn’t put a lot of stock in their comments. Those people are straight up vicious with names they don’t like a lot of the time. Way worse than even the most blunt people here.

I would use Analía, I don’t recommend changing the spelling at all. If it really bothers you, then I would suggest [name_f]Ana[/name_f]-Lía.

Your original name is beautiful, don’t change it.

Analía and Anahlía both look and sound lovely to me. Use whichever spelling you like best- I really don’t think the “anal” thing is a concern. With regards to pronunciation, my first guess would have been ah-nah-lee-ah rather than on- for either of those spellings, Annalía would be an-nah-lee-ah to me. And I love [name_f]Mireya[/name_f]! The last name Rivera too- a character in one of my favourite book series when I was younger had the last name Rivera, and I thought it was so great, haha.

[name_f]Analia[/name_f] is preferable to Anahlia.

I also prefer [name_f]Analia[/name_f]
Other suggestions: Annalia, [name_f]Amalia[/name_f], [name_f]Annelie[/name_f], [name_f]Annalie[/name_f]

I have a student named Analiya. I noticed “anal”, but it’s like “meh” who cares. However, lately she’s been writing her name and shortening it to “Anal” :-? So my advice is make sure your kid doesn’t shorten it. Haha.

I think it is a pleasant sounding name. If you love it, go for it!
