If you were to see the name [name]Analise[/name] how would you pronounce it? I have a specific way I want it said but I’m worried it will get said wrong a lot.

I think it’s ok. I like [name]Margot[/name] more though, but that’s just me. [name]Annelise[/name] is more princessy than the names I gravitate towards.

I pronounce it ann-uh-leese, and I think it’s a really pretty name, although I prefer it spelled with two ns, [name]Annalise[/name]. I don’t care for [name]Margot[/name] much but I know a lot of people who really like it, and I think it flows nicely with [name]Analise[/name].
I said it as [name]Ah[/name]-nuh-lease or On-[name]Elise[/name]. To me, [name]Annalise[/name] would be [name]Ann[/name]-elise. I much prefer the [name]Anneliese[/name] spelling whether you pronounce it [name]Ann[/name] or On or the [name]German[/name] way, which is Ahn-uh-lee-zuh. I don’t really care for the name [name]Margo[/name]/[name]Margot[/name] but it sounds okay with any of the pronunciations. [name]Anneliese[/name] is 3rd on my list, by the way!
I think the spelling [name]Analise[/name] is horrible b/c it’s impossible not to see anal. That said, I [name]LOVE[/name] the name and it’s def one of my faves but I prefer the spelling [name]Anneliese[/name]…same prn. [name]Anne[/name]-uh-leese.
As French is my second native language I consider [name]Anne[/name] to be the English “Ay-un” and [name]Ane[/name] to be the French “On”. So, for me, [name]Analise[/name] would be on-uh-lease and [name]Annaliese[/name] would be ay-un-uh-leez. I pronounce the “lise/liese” more of a “leez” than a “lease”

I say Ahn-uh-leese and it is one of my favorite names.
[name]Ann[/name]-uh-lees , annelies was anne franks real name and margot was her sister. Not neccassarily a problem as they were wonderful people, but it’s the first thing I think when I see the names
Oh, I took the lovely [name]Annelise[/name]/[name]Annalise[/name]/[name]Anneliese[/name] off my list because I couldn’t get over it looking like analyze. If you spell it [name]Analise[/name], it REALLY looks like analyze. I think [name]Anneliese[/name] is the best way to go. I pronounce it [name]Ah[/name]-nah-lease.

Like others have mentioned before, I would be wary of the [name]Analise[/name] spelling. Lots of teasing potential there.
I’m kind of surprised by some of the responses. I have always pronounced [name]Anna[/name] as ann-uh, and [name]Ana[/name] as ah-nuh, so I just assumed it would be the same way for [name]Analise[/name]. Yeah the spelling is a bit of an issue, but I don’t like the “[name]Anna[/name]” sound, and I wanted to use [name]Ana[/name] as a nickname. Maybe something like Aunalise? I don’t know though…thoughts?
I think Aunalise is better if that’s the pronunciation you want. When I see [name]Analise[/name] I hear Anal eze…not good.
Yes, [name]Anna[/name] is ann-a and [name]Ana[/name] is ah-na, BUT, that is because [name]Ana[/name] is the Spanish spelling and that is the Spanish prn. [name]Anna[/name] is the Spelling in [name]German[/name] where it is pronounced the same asin Spanish.
Using [name]Ana[/name] to get the Spanish pronunciation just looks very weird in a name with a [name]German[/name] origin. While non name-nerds might not be that sensitive to that weirdness, I’m also not sure they’ll “get” your desired pronunciation, or be able to see around this spelling’s problems, for that matter.
Since most Americans pronounce any variant of the name [name]Anneliese[/name] with [name]Ann[/name] sound, [name]Analise[/name] doesn’t avoid that. It just makes it look like analyze and anal.
[name]Anneliese[/name] is a [name]German[/name] name combining [name]Ann[/name] and [name]Eliese[/name] - a short form of [name]Elisabeth[/name] - pronounced Ahn - eh - [name]Lee[/name] - zah in [name]German[/name]. A variant form is [name]Annalise[/name], combining [name]Anna[/name] (ah-na in [name]German[/name]) and another short form of [name]Elisabeth[/name], [name]Lise[/name] - pronounced like [name]Lisa[/name].
I think either [name]Anneliese[/name] or [name]Annalise[/name] is very nice, and [name]Annelise[/name] I kind of like too because it looks like [name]Ann[/name]-[name]Elise[/name] (two legit names merged together too). I have no problem with changing lee-zah to lease - this is English after all, and it does sound like [name]Elise[/name] at the end there. I also have no problem with pronouncing the first A as [name]Ah[/name]. You will just have to be very clear with people.
To use the European prn for A but the [name]Elise[/name] prn for lise/liese is a little strange. But not a huge thing. Although [name]Annelise[/name] prn’d Ahn-[name]Elise[/name] would be wholly consistent FWIW.
I took this name off of my list for a while because of the possible pronunciation issues. On top of that, my husband wanted to use the [name]German[/name] pronunciation of [name]Ah[/name]-nah-lee-zah at home. I figured she would end up being a pretty confused girl with all the different pronunciations. 
But, I put it back on my list and plan to call her [name]Nellie[/name](if I get a girl, lol) and she can always go by [name]Ana[/name], [name]Ann[/name], [name]Annie[/name] or [name]Nellie[/name] or [name]Elise[/name] which are all obviously easy names in the states. I imagine she would get called [name]ANN[/name] [name]Elise[/name] and AHN-[name]Elise[/name] and be okay with either pronunciation though. I definitely think you should use the [name]Anneliese[/name] spelling and go ahead and say AHN-eliese and use [name]Ana[/name] as a nickname. I think it would def. work!
I pronounce it [name]Ann[/name]-a-leese, but I agree that it needs the double-n spelling to avoid the association with the word “anal.” It’s a beautiful name, and it would be a shame to have it ruined by that association. That was my immediate, reflexive response to the spelling. Also, unless you actually want it to be pronounced as [name]Ayn[/name]-a-leese, the double-n helps people correctly interpret the pronunciation. If you [name]DO[/name] want it pronounced with the long-A sound, maybe you could consider spelling it Aynalise or [name]Anelise[/name] to avoid the unpleasant connection to “anal.”
