[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! I know that there are several ways to pronounce this name. So, how do you say [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f]? x
Anna-stay-zia
Anna-stay-zha
I say An-uh-STAY-zha
I say ann-uh-STAY-zha. I’m not sure how to write out the way I say the ‘zh’ part- it’s like the way you say the ‘sia’ part in the word [name_f]Asia[/name_f]. (I hope that makes sense)
Ann-uh-staa-zyuh
Ann-uh-STAY-zhuh (last two syllables exactly like “[name_f]Asia[/name_f]”).
I automatically say an-uh-STAY-zha like [name_f]Asia[/name_f], because that’s more popular here. But I do actually prefer an-uh-STAH-zee-uh!
An-nuh-stay-zha
I say ah-nuh-STAY-zhuh, but there is definitely more than one correct pronunciation for this one.
Anna-stay-zha
I was in a class at school that bizarrely had 3 Anastasias, each with a different pronunciation:
Anna-STAY-zhuh
[name_f]Anna[/name_f]-stuh-see-uh
[name_f]Anna[/name_f]-STAR-zee-uh
Anna-stay-zhuh
But I know people who pronounce it as ana-staw-zee-uh and ana-staw-see-uh as well.
ann-uh-STAY-zhuh is the only way I’ve heard it. The “zhuh” sound is similar to the sound the S makes in “measure”.
I would say [name_m]Ah[/name_m]-nah-STAH-see-ah
The only person that comes to mind besides the Disney character is [name_f]Kylie[/name_f] [name_m]Jenner[/name_m]’s best friend. [name_m]Just[/name_m] now went to see how she pronounces it (since she’s based in an [name_f]English[/name_f] speaking country so thought it’d be a good reference). She pronounces it [name_m]Ah[/name_m]-nah-stah-SEE-ah
I’ve known a couple of Anastasias, both pronounced anna-STAY-zha (with the last two syllables pronounced like [name_f]Asia[/name_f])
[name_m]Ah[/name_m]-neh-stah-see-ah
