[name_m]Andreas[/name_m] has been on my mind the last few days. I’m not sure if there’s more than one pronunciation, but I’ve always heard on-DRAY-us, so that’s what I’m thinking. It honors my mother-in-law and I think would match well with my daughter’s middle name (Wilhelmina).

[name_f]So[/name_f] what are your general thoughts on [name_m]Andreas[/name_m] and what would you use as a first name if I had a little ___ [name_m]Andreas[/name_m] to go with [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f]?
I mostly know it as a Greek or [name_m]German[/name_m] name, pronounced ahn-DREH-us! I’m a bit less fond of on-dray-us, but it’s a solid, handsome classic. I think it goes really nicely with [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] too!
[name_f][/name_f]
With [name_f]Georgia[/name_f], I’d be thinking about something like [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Andreas[/name_m], [name_m]Everett[/name_m] [name_m]Andreas[/name_m], [name_m]Isaac[/name_m] [name_m]Andreas[/name_m], [name_m]Felix[/name_m] [name_m]Andreas[/name_m], [name_m]Elliot[/name_m] [name_m]Andreas[/name_m], [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] [name_m]Andreas[/name_m], [name_m]Eli[/name_m] [name_m]Andreas[/name_m], [name_m]Reuben[/name_m] [name_m]Andreas[/name_m], [name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Andreas[/name_m]
[name_m]Andreas[/name_m] is quite handsome [name_f][/name_f]- it has a touch of flair, but a solid feel too. [name_f][/name_f] I have heard it said as an-DRAY-us here in the UK, but since it’s a middle, I don’t think that difference is too big of an issue?
[name_f][/name_f]
With [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f], I’m thinking…
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f] [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] and [name_m]Laurence[/name_m] [name_m]Andreas[/name_m]? [name_f][/name_f] [name_m]Andreas[/name_m] is also Nordic, so:
@cms1512[name_f][/name_f] I’ve never considered [name_m]Thatcher[/name_m] before, but I kinda like it!
[name_f][/name_f]
@tallemaja[name_f][/name_f] [name_m]Everett[/name_m], [name_m]Isaac[/name_m], [name_m]Oscar[/name_m], and [name_m]Leo[/name_m] are all great!
[name_f][/name_f]
@Greyblue[name_f][/name_f] I’m liking [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] and [name_m]Frederick[/name_m]!
[name_f][/name_f]
@miloowen[name_f][/name_f] We do have a [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] that we could potentially honor as well, so [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] [name_m]Andreas[/name_m] could be a good option.
[name_f][/name_f]
@somemelodioussonnet[name_f][/name_f] [name_m]Not[/name_m] sure if [name_m]Maximilian[/name_m] is too long, but I do like [name_m]Max[/name_m] [name_m]Andreas[/name_m]!
I don’t hear [name_m]Andreas[/name_m] very often but it’s got a nice rhythm and sound. It feels classically handsome and versatile with all sorts of names.
It really does match with [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f]! [name_f]Love[/name_f] both! [name_f][/name_f]AN-dree-as and ahn-DREH-ahs are also pronunciation more common in [name_f]Europe[/name_f]
I adore [name_m]Andreas[/name_m]! [name_f][/name_f] He’s a middle for one of my favorite firsts (Boaz [name_m]Andreas[/name_m] Henry) [name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f] I use the same pronunciation as you, and I agree he pairs so well with [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f]!
[name_f][/name_f]
Because of my own combo, [name_m]Beau[/name_m] [name_m]Andreas[/name_m] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Andreas[/name_m] were my first thoughts–I also like these with Georgia’s name:
Thank you guys! [name_m]Ezra[/name_m], Max/Maxwell, [name_m]Isaac[/name_m], and [name_m]Owen[/name_m] are all great with [name_m]Andreas[/name_m]. Thanks for humoring me
