[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone!
Thoughts on [name_f]Angeline[/name_f]? (Ann-jell-een)
Also, does it work for the nickname [name_u]Anne[/name_u]?
As an [name_u]Anne[/name_u] of [name_u]Green[/name_u] Gables fan, I’ve definitely entertained the idea of a daughter called [name_u]Anne[/name_u]. But I like the idea of a longer form.
Is [name_f]Angeline[/name_f], called [name_u]Anne[/name_u] on occasion doable? Would she be able to avoid the more common Ang / [name_u]Angie[/name_u]?
Thank you!
angeline is sweet, and familiar but unexpected. it’s a nice name! i think angeline “anne” definitely works. the ann spelling feels more natural to me as a nn for angeline, but regardless.
on the other hand, i couldn’t say for sure that angie is entirely avoidable. i would be surprised if an angeline never got the occasional angie.
[name_f]Ann[/name_f] is fine but [name_u]Angie[/name_u] might not be avoidable entirely
I think Angeline ‘Anne’ is amazing! I’m also really loving Anne/ Ann, but I’m also a ‘longer names’ type a gurl.
I think it’s not an obvious nn, but if she would introduce herself as Angeline ‘Anne’, I’m sure people would respect that and would call her Anne.
I really love [name_f]Angeline[/name_f]. It’s my favorite of the [name_u]Angel[/name_u]- family. It has such a sleek, old glamor vibe to me.
[name_f]Angeline[/name_f] “Anne” definitely works. [name_u]Angie[/name_u] almost sounds unavoidable, but at the same time… I know Angelinas who aren’t shortened - plus [name_u]Angie[/name_u] isn’t really a common name/nickname that you hear very often anymore, so perhaps on a modern baby it wouldn’t be as intuitive, especially to her peers.
Firstly [name_f]Angeline[/name_f] is gorgeous!
I think [name_u]Anne[/name_u] can work as a nickname for [name_f]Angeline[/name_f] I actually think [name_u]Anne[/name_u] can work for most ‘an’ starting names so this definitely includes [name_f]Angeline[/name_f]. However I think most would gravitate towards [name_u]Angie[/name_u] as she is the most intuitive nickname. Personally I love [name_u]Angie[/name_u] she’s so sweet with a fun retro feel.
I think to really honour [name_u]Anne[/name_u] of the [name_u]Green[/name_u] Gables I personally find [name_u]Anne[/name_u] the best honour option and is just so gorgeous! I love [name_u]Anne[/name_u] so had to shout her out.
[name_u]Anne[/name_u] totally works for [name_f]Angeline[/name_f]!
[name_f]Angeline[/name_f] is sweet - sleek and pretty. I do think [name_u]Angie[/name_u] is more automatic, but [name_u]Anne[/name_u] works
i think Angeline “Anne” definitely works because of how prominent the anne sound is. she might still get Ang / Angie, but Angie seems pretty dated to me so i’m not sure if people would default to it (especially if she went by Anne)
