Anna Daisy or Eliza Daisy?

@sammaegre Thank you so much! I do love that the names share sounds. I just wasn’t sure if it was too much when combined. [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] is just such a joyful name to me! I may modify it in my list to be a first-and-middle combination. I’m torn because it’s so pretty together, but it’s also big name, in terms of both length and syllables. If I broke it up into first and middle names, I could still use both names!
I completely understand what you mean about the pause in [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]. There is a less obvious break in [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] because of the shared sounds. I had never thought of that before!

Thank you again!

I love the simple sweetness of [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]! [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] is beautiful and I agree it has more spunk, but it almost feels a bit too busy for a double name? But if it is more significant and feels more special than [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], I would say go for [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]!

Here’s a few ideas for a middle for [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]:

[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Gretchen[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Helena[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_m]Pearl[/name_m]

Good luck!

@ashthedreamer Thank you so much! I definitely see what you mean, and I agree that [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] is busy for a double name. You nailed the reason I love [name_f]Anna[/name_f]. It’s so sweet and simple!

Of your suggestions, my favorites are:

[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] +
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]

I’m also considering something like [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]! This would not be a double name, but I love [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] for a little girl! I definitely think it deserves more love!

Thank you again!

I would have loved to use [name_f]Greta[/name_f]. I still like it very much. Unfortunately my husband did not like it too much and our last two kids are boys so I did not have the chance to use it.

[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]

[name_m]Or[/name_m]

[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Greta[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] are nice too.

If you are open to two middle Names.

@Anna03 Thank you so much! I’m sorry that [name_f]Greta[/name_f] wasn’t an option for you. I have two middle names myself, so I am very open to that for any future children. I do like [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Greta[/name_f], [name_f]Greta[/name_f] [name_f]Anna[/name_f], and [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Sophia[/name_f]! I don’t typically like to pair names with the same ending, but these are exceptions.

Thank you again!

[name_f]My[/name_f] vote is for [name_f]Molly[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. Both classic names.

Save [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] if you have a second daughter. [name_f]Molly[/name_f] and [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] would make a delightful sister set.

Perhaps…
[name_f]Molly[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f] or [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f]

@diane921 Thank you so much! I love [name_f]Molly[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]! I’m starting to feel like it doesn’t need another name added (which would make it a double name) to make it more special than it already is. What is special is that she would be named after my grandma. I am starting to wonder if the reason I was trying to pair [name_f]Molly[/name_f] with another name is because I was worried that the rest of my family would think [name_f]Molly[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] was too close. [name_f]My[/name_f] grandma was Ma.ry Eliz@beth, so this is the most direct honor name, and I love that.

I do like the idea of giving my [name_f]Molly[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] a second middle name, (I also have two middles) but if she doesn’t have one, it isn’t a dealbreaker for me.

I also like your idea of saving the name [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] as a possible sister to [name_f]Molly[/name_f]. Those would be adorable together!

Thank you again!

@Lenarke Thank you so much! I really love [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]! I’ve only ever met two people whose full name was [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], and I don’t know anyone named [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]. So I like that too!

Thank you again!

[name_m]Just[/name_m] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is lovely too! I still think [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] or [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] ____ are my favorite options, but the simplicity of [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is also beautiful! I agree [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] deserves more love.

@ashthedreamer Thank you so much! I know exactly what you mean, and I feel like all of theme fit what I am looking for. But maybe [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] needs a second middle name? I’m becoming a little nervous about the double names again. And maybe that’s because I love how seamless M@rikate’s name feels. None of the names I like are feeling as natural as that one. I LOVE [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], and [name_f]Molly[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] (I’m not using [name_f]Molly[/name_f] and [name_f]Kate[/name_f] together, but it’s an example). But maybe I should let the double name idea go? I’m not sure!

Thank you again!

How about [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]

Double barrel names are hard! I think it’s especially hard to get them to stick if they’re over 4 syllables. I think the ones that end in a one-syllable name are easier to get to stick (Anna-Joy, Sophie-Jane, Lily-Snow)? I knew a family who had a Mich@el-Kell@n and they couldn’t get anyone to use the full name, everyone just called him by the first name. But I know a Jessic@-J0y who gets called the full double barrel! I think [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] makes it harder but I do think [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] is easier to make work than [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] (but [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] is gorgeous!).

[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] reminds me of some of the Brazilian double barrels I’ve come across… I know Brazilian girls named [name_f]Maria[/name_f] [name_f]Agatha[/name_f], [name_f]Ana[/name_f] [name_f]Vitória[/name_f], [name_f]Maria[/name_f] [name_f]Clara[/name_f], [name_f]Anna[/name_f] Sophia… those are all longer but they feel like a pair so they stick. Because of that, I can see [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] catching on. It might help to have a hyphen (Anna-Daisy) or smoosh them together (like Annadaisy), but I like the simplicity of [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]. And [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] or [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] are very sweet.

I do think [name_f]Molly[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] is fine, though… I think [name_f]Kate[/name_f] is a very easy name that lends itself to double barrels. [name_m]Or[/name_m] even [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]? But if you want to avoid reusing [name_f]Kate[/name_f], I think [name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_f]Snow[/name_f], [name_f]Wren[/name_f], [name_m]Pearl[/name_m], etc., all could work well too. [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is so timeless and sweet.

@ashthedreamer Thank you so much! I agree that one-syllable names at the end work better in the second spot. But I do feel badly when a child wants to be called by a certain name and they can rarely get people to call them by that name. The same goes for parents who find themselves in similar situations to the one you described.
The Brazilian names you mentioned are beautiful! I I think if certain types of names are more common within cultures or families, they are it’s easier for them to stick.

I believe hyphens are allowed in my state! I agree that it would be easier to use a double barrel name with a hyphen. I am just concerned because some paperwork doesn’t allow them. But maybe there is a way to indicate that someone goes by both names.

I really don’t think reusing [name_f]Kate[/name_f] would be a problem. [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] is my aunt’s middle name. She goes by a variation of it. I love her dearly. However, I have made a decision that if I use an honor name, I will honor my parents, grandparents, or brother. (My mom’s side of the family is very large. I made this decision in part to avoid offending aunts and uncles if I don’t choose their names for my children. Any sharing of names beyond those I am honoring is not meant as a way to “choose” certain people over others. It simply means I like the name. I will make this clear when I am ready to have children. I feel

Now that I think about it, similar names are pretty common in my family. To name a few, we have:

P@ul
Paul@
[name_f]Mary[/name_f] Paul@ (I believe she goes by her full name, and i don’t think the overlap was intentional!

I really love [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f], and I have considered it before! There are also some very cute names that include [name_f]Jane[/name_f].

You have helped me so much, and given me quite a bit to consider.

Thank you again

That’s fair! I’ve also decided (mostly) to only honor parents, siblings, and grandparents. I think overlapping is fine, the number of J0hns in my family is mortifying lol (I think there’s at least 15 in 4 generations, it’s a nightmare lol.).

I thought I’d seen you consider [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] before! It’s super lovely. If you’re not opposed to reusing [name_f]Kate[/name_f], I think [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] would be fun too, or maybe [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] Kate/Eliza [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] Kate/something like that? Any combo of [name_f]Anna[/name_f], [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], Eliza/Elizabeth, and [name_f]Kate[/name_f] is so timeless and lovely, tbh.

@ashthedreamer We don’t have quite that much overlap to my knowledge! J0hn is a great name though! Thank you for all your help and thoughtfulness. I love [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] and [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]. I also have to throw [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] into consideration!

Thank you again!
