Our daughter [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] arrived on 8 [name_f]May[/name_f]. We chose [name_f]Anna[/name_f] primarily for its timeless quality, but also because it suits our Italian last name and is pronounced the same in my American accent and my husband’s English accent. [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] is after my grandmother, to whom I have always been very close.
I confess that prior to baby’s arrival, I wasn’t 100% sold on the name. I wondered if [name_f]Anna[/name_f] might be too plain and part of me wanted a more romantic middle name than [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f]. But once she arrived, I was completely won over by the sweet simplicity of [name_f]Anna[/name_f]. I am also so glad we chose an honour middle name, connecting [name_f]Anna[/name_f] to her wider family. I also think [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f]'s [name_m]Wizard[/name_m] of [name_m]Oz[/name_m] connection lends the name a storybook charm.
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] is perfectly beautiful! [name_f]Anna[/name_f] is one of my all-time favourites - so simple, sweet and strong. Congratulations to you and welcome to [name_f]Anna[/name_f]
