~anna karenina names~ 🥀

anna karenina is my favourite book and i love the dark royalcore and also dramatic vibe of it. do you have any names that fit this category? this kind of dramatic, waltz kind of dark royalcore vibe or a kind of ethereal fairy tale vibe of it, like 1800 european aristocracy / nobility kind of it, great and pompous, they don’t have to be exactly from anna karenina just have that vibe. otherwise something that is like have the vibe of the book (for me is something slavic or french, being the main languages or backgrounds of the book and very elegant, kind of pompous, aristocratic, a bit like this emojis :wilted_flower::violin::crescent_moon::hourglass_flowing_sand::swan: and winter / autumn -esque.)
otherwise something that doesn’t necessarily have this style but name of characters from the book? references? inner jokes?
some ideas i had:

  • obviously anna but also anne / anaïs / hannah and all variations
  • karina from karenina
  • constantina or constance from constantin levin
  • ekaterina “kitty”
  • lydia from countess lidija, a character from the book
  • alexandra from alexei vronskij and darya alexandrovna
  • dorothy “dolly”

I honestly have considered Karenina as a middle. It has such a pretty sound, and would be a perfect way to honor my mom (who is Karen), but since I haven’t actually finished the novel I figure I shouldn’t actually go there until I have. I think something like [name_f]Eve[/name_f] Karenina or [name_f]Thea[/name_f] Karenina would be really pretty.

I think some of the variations of the three sisters would be really nice, too - [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] nn [name_u]Kitty[/name_u] (Katherine feels much more accessible than Ekaterina?), Daria/Dolly/Darya in some form, Natalia/Natasha/Natalie. [name_f]Natalie[/name_f] is quite popular but the whole family of names is gorgeous, anyway. Lydia/Lidia is great, too. Maybe something like [name_f]Varvara[/name_f], Marya/Masha, [name_f]Elizaveta[/name_f], Agafya/Agatha/Agnieszka, etc.? Although I didn’t get far enough to really know them as characters, so I couldn’t speak to how well the name sakes are lol.

Not sure that they have the same feeling but I adore [name_f]Vera[/name_f], [name_f]Ksenia[/name_f], [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f], Evgeniya, [name_f]Evelina[/name_f], [name_f]Klementina[/name_f], Nadia/Nadezhda, [name_f]Oksana[/name_f], [name_f]Zoya[/name_f]. [name_u]Or[/name_u] maybe Stefaniya as a feminization of Stiva? [name_u]Or[/name_u] even Anya/Anja which is so lovely.
