[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone. We’ve narrowed down our list of first names for our baby girl (first child) to [name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_f]Augusta[/name_f]. I would love some fresh thoughts on these two names. The middle name will be [name_u]Douglas[/name_u]. The last name is similar to [name_u]Sinclair[/name_u]. Thanks!
I think [name_f]Anna[/name_f] is gorgeous and underused, so it gets my vote.
[name_f]Augusta[/name_f] seems like a beautiful name in theory, but I am stationed near the town of [name_f]Augusta[/name_f], [name_f]Georgia[/name_f], and it’s a rundown, trashy town, so I have highly negative associations with the name that I can’t seem to not think of when I hear the name.
I love [name_f]Anna[/name_f], it’s timeless, simple and beautiful [name_f]IMO[/name_f]. I also do love [name_f]Augusta[/name_f], I find it more quirky and daring than [name_f]Anna[/name_f] but still very feminine and beautiful. If you imagine your daughter having a nickname would you want [name_f]Ann[/name_f]/ [name_f]Annie[/name_f] or Aug or [name_u]Gus[/name_u]? I personally think [name_u]Gus[/name_u] is so cute. I hope that helps.
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] by far. It’s gorgeous.
I actually prefer [name_f]Augusta[/name_f]. It’s so pretty and flows so well!
Definitely, definitely [name_f]Anna[/name_f]. Simple yet so sweet and graceful. A beautiful classic that I never get bored of. I’m never a fan of [name_f]Augusta[/name_f], so it’s an easy choice for me.
anna is more common but still very pretty and i prefer it to augusta
I prefer [name_f]Anna[/name_f]. It’s one of my favourites (short, sweet, but with personality and substance) and I’m personally not the biggest fan of [name_f]Augusta[/name_f], so [name_f]Anna[/name_f] definitely gets my vote.
I prefer [name_f]Anna[/name_f], definitely. I’m not a fan of [name_f]Augusta[/name_f].
I like [name_f]Anna[/name_f] better- it is Hebrew “God is gracious”.
It is on my list as a middle name for DD #2 as I do find it pretty common as a first name.
Sorry, I do not like [name_f]Augusta[/name_f] for a girl.
DD 1- Eden Elizabeth Rose
DD 2- (?) Noah, Lily or Eve
I much prefer the sound of [name_f]Anna[/name_f] to [name_f]Augusta[/name_f]. Plus [name_f]Anna[/name_f] has many nickname possibilities from different languages.
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] by far. I really dont like [name_f]Augusta[/name_f].
I love [name_f]Augusta[/name_f]. So elegant, underused and fresh. [name_f]Anna[/name_f] is beautiful, but I feel like every other kid I meet has this name (and I’m in Europe).
I prefer [name_f]Anna[/name_f] - it is elegant and classic, yet simple. [name_f]Augusta[/name_f] strikes me as pretentious.
I think it makes a wonderful middle name. Very elegant and distinguished sounding. If you would consider two middle names I would [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Augusta[/name_f] [name_u]Douglas[/name_u] “[name_u]Sinclair[/name_u],” or [name_f]Anne[/name_f] [name_f]Augusta[/name_f] [name_u]Douglas[/name_u] “[name_u]Sinclair[/name_u].”
I definitely prefer [name_f]Augusta[/name_f], by a million miles. Its one of my alltime favourites. If you’re really unsure you could go [name_f]Augusta[/name_f] on the birth certificate/introduced as [name_f]Anna[/name_f]? Its not too far of a stretch and then you can keep [name_f]Augusta[/name_f] as a name within family cirlces if you prefer.
Thats what I would do anyway ”
[name_f]Augusta[/name_f], [name_f]Augusta[/name_f]! I know so many Annas, of all ages.
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] is classic, beautiful an de simple. One more vote for [name_f]Anna[/name_f]!
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] by far!
I do love [name_f]Augusta[/name_f], but with the masculine middle you have chosen, [name_f]Anna[/name_f] might be better.
