I actually love both names and I’m not able to choose between them. Mostly because my mom is named [name_f]Anna[/name_f] and my half sister is named [name_f]Hannah[/name_f]
But I do have to say that I think [name_f]Anna[/name_f] sounds a bit fresher and less buttoned up.
I’ve always loved [name_f]Anna[/name_f]. I think it’s simply beautiful.
I like both really, but [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] has some poor personal connections for me, so I voted for [name_f]Anna[/name_f].
[name_f]Hannah[/name_f] is one of those classic names that will always be relevant. I also really love this spelling of [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] as opposed to [name_f]Hanna[/name_f]. I vote for [name_f]Hannah[/name_f]
I’m really loving [name_f]Anna[/name_f] at the moment, due to a character association as usual :). Very likely [name_f]Anna[/name_f] will be on my list sooner or later, though middles are a pain so far.
I prefer [name_f]Anna[/name_f].
I really love [name_f]Anna[/name_f]. Its a gorgeous name and the nickname [name_f]Annie[/name_f] is just adorable. I like how [name_f]Anna[/name_f] looks and sounds. [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] is cute as well, I just prefer [name_f]Anna[/name_f] more.
I feel like I don’t hear [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] a ton and I like it so I voted for that
I love then both. It’s really difficult to choose but in the end I went with [name_f]Anna[/name_f]. It feels just a little fresher and I like that you could use nn [name_f]Annie[/name_f].
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] for me as well!
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] feels very classic, [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] for me is more dated with her rapid rise in the 70’s and 80’s. Noticing [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] on your list, I also wouldn’t feel comfortable with [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] since she was [name_m]Samuel[/name_m]'s mother in the Bible. (I know siblings [name_m]Jacob[/name_m] and [name_f]Leah[/name_f] also, it just rubs me the wrong way, especially since [name_f]Leah[/name_f] was the ‘not wanted’ wife…)
Both are lovely, but I would go with [name_f]Hannah[/name_f]. It is a bit more unique in my opinion and you could always use the nickname [name_f]Anna[/name_f] so you still get to use both names.
I don’t think they are boring…they are classic!
I voted [name_f]Anna[/name_f], I’ve always disliked [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] whereas [name_f]Anna[/name_f] is beautiful : )
I much prefer [name_f]Hannah[/name_f]! Or [name_f]Hana[/name_f]
I’ve always liked the simplicity of [name_f]Anna[/name_f] (and [name_f]Anne[/name_f]).
I prefer [name_f]Anna[/name_f]
I voted for [name_f]Hannah[/name_f]. [name_f]Anna[/name_f] has been more popular throughout different eras internationally, but it’s becoming so popular that parents who wanted to use it as an honour name are hesitating. I have a great-great-great-grandmother, a great-grandmother, an Aunt named [name_f]Anna[/name_f] - and I’m named [name_f]Anya[/name_f] for all of them. I wanted [name_f]Anna[/name_f] for my daughter, but it’s becoming so popular.
I also think that many parents are only choosing [name_f]Anna[/name_f] due to Frozen or as a replacement for the at-their-peaks [name_f]Emma[/name_f] and [name_f]Ava[/name_f], even if they don’t consciously realize it.
This is a tough one for me.
When I was younger I loved loved the name [name_f]Hannah[/name_f]. It was always going to be my top choice for any future daughter I might have. But, growing up in church, there was a huge surge of little [name_f]Hannah[/name_f]'s being born (I guess because it’s a biblical name) that I felt like I was hearing it ALL the time and that kind of put me off it a little, even though I think it’s a lovely name.
Now, I feel like we’re saturated with [name_f]Anna[/name_f]'s and hearing less of [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] (as compared to say 10 or more years ago). So, I guess you need to consider if popularity is a big deal to you. I think if you had a daughter now, when she goes to school in 5 years time, there’d be way more [name_f]Anna[/name_f]'s in the classroom than [name_f]Hannah[/name_f]'s, so that’s a perk for me. I think both are lovely names, and as a previous poster mentioned, if you chose [name_f]Hannah[/name_f], [name_f]Anna[/name_f] is a very obvious nickname choice allowing you to use both names you love.
Since I had to only vote on one, I chose [name_f]Hannah[/name_f].
Not boring! I like [name_f]Anna[/name_f] the most. [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] has had more of a fall then rise in popularity, so it is easier to date, whereas [name_f]Anna[/name_f] has stayed pretty solid. But BOTH are classics that any baby would be lucky to have. Sometimes I prefer the so-called “boring” names because they are easy to infuse with whatever personality your child has.
