I much prefer [name_f]Annabel[/name_f]. [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] looks overly frilly and pompous to me, and also makes me think of the creepy doll. [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] is very sweet on its own

I much prefer [name_f]Annabel[/name_f]. [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] is gorgeous, sweet, and spunky.

I strongly prefer [name_f]Annabel[/name_f]. The [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] spelling looks too cutesy and [name_m]OTT[/name_m] to me. I think whichever one you go with it will be misspelt (which is okay - a lot of names are, including my own).

I always default to [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f]. It’s adorable (regardless of spelling, imo), but [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] is always my first instinct, as when I was little (long before the horror films), I named my most cherished doll [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f], lol. I still have her to this day and even now, almost 20 years later, I still always seem to spell it as [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f].

The only [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] I know is a little girl with the spelling [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f], but it always seems to frilly to me, and know I associate it with the horror movie. [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] is lovely. I love the association with [name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_m]Allan[/name_m] [name_u]Poe[/name_u].

I like both, but prefer [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] myself as I think the -le is a little redundant and therefore really not necessary. That said, if the frilly and feminine vibe is something you love and are after in a name, [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] is lovely.

I prefer [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] as it’s sleek and spunky but still clearly feminine. [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] feels a bit too frilly and excessive for me. I used to like [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] better though, so maybe it’s that the only person I know with this name is an [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] so I’m just used to that!

[name_f]Annabel[/name_f] lools sleek and tidy to me

I prefer [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f]. I’ve always found it much more appealing, probably because it looks more balanced out and symmetrical. [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] always felt incomplete to me.

Both spellings are legitimate and widely acceptable so you can’t go wrong. People will learn whichever spelling you go for. I think this worry about constant misspelling is only a worry. In reality, most of us have names that have common spelling variations and this hasn’t caused a constant hindrance at all. [name_m]Just[/name_m] to name a few examples there’s [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]/[name_f]Katherine[/name_f]/[name_f]Kathryn[/name_f], [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]/[name_f]Isabel[/name_f]/[name_f]Isobel[/name_f], [name_u]Lyn[/name_u]/[name_u]Lynn[/name_u]/[name_f]Lynne[/name_f], [name_m]Steven[/name_m]/[name_m]Stephen[/name_m], [name_m]Jeffrey[/name_m]/[name_m]Geoffrey[/name_m] and so on.

I think whichever spelling you love the look of is the one you should go with as both may occasionally be mistaken for the other. Most of the time there should be no issue. All the best with your decision and remaining trimester!

I like [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] better because then you have the nickname option of [name_f]Belle[/name_f]. It also feel more complete and elegant to me

I really love [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f], it looks symmetrical somehow which I find visually very pleasing

I love [name_f]Annabel[/name_f], and find [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] too frilly and over the top.

I think you can’t go wrong here - everyone has preferences, but both spellings are just fine, so you should go with the one you prefer. No matter what, there are going to be people who will instinctively spell the name differently than you do - they will learn!

[name_f]Annabel[/name_f]. Gorgeous name and spelling. [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] is too frilly.

Thanks all, I always leaned more toward [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] and I think that is what we will go with! [name_m]Just[/name_m] some last minute doubts!

[name_f]Annabel[/name_f] just feels more fun and genuine to me. [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] is a little too frilly and seems almost too sweet?
