I am scheduled to be induced in 3 days. I thought the name was going to be [name_f]Ada[/name_f] if it’s a girl, but now I’m pondering [name_f]Annamae[/name_f]. I still like [name_f]Ada[/name_f], but I like the nickname choices you have with [name_f]Annamae[/name_f], such as a [name_f]Anne[/name_f] or [name_f]Mae[/name_f]. [name_f]Ada[/name_f] and [name_f]Anne[/name_f] are both family names. What’s your opinion? And is it wise to change the name so close to my due date? By the way, I think my hubby is liking [name_f]Annamae[/name_f] better but I’m still torn.
Although I do not think there’s a problem with changing a name close to your due date, I do have a SMALL drawback for [name_f]Annamae[/name_f]. It is beautiful, but sounds rather similar to the Japanese cartoons, “Anime.”
I don’t know if that would be a drawback for you. Something to consider?
I immediately thought Anime. I think [name_f]Ada[/name_f] is beautiful
YES! [name_u]Love[/name_u] it!
I can’t say it without thinking “anime”. I much prefer [name_f]Ada[/name_f]! It’s been a favourite for a long time. I think if you really love [name_f]Annamae[/name_f] that you should go for it, but I would choose [name_f]Ada[/name_f] myself.
Definitely go with [name_f]Ada[/name_f]!
I also immediately think of Anime, so I wouldn’t use [name_f]Annamae[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Ada[/name_f] is lovely.
Stick with [name_f]Ada[/name_f]!
I love smoosh names. I think [name_f]Mae[/name_f] is beautiful. But I agree with previous posters, it sounds a lot like “Anime”. It’s not a downside for me, because I neither like nor dislike anime. But if you want to use this name ,go ahead. [name_m]Just[/name_m] keep in mind that it sounds just like a very popular type of TV show.
I love [name_f]Annamae[/name_f]! I like [name_f]Mae[/name_f] as a nickname best.
I do really like [name_f]Annamae[/name_f], but taking what previous posters have said into consideration, maybe you could go with [name_f]Ada[/name_f]-[name_f]Mae[/name_f] as an alternative?
I’m all for [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] or [name_f]Anna[/name_f]-[name_f]Mae[/name_f] (because these make me take a slight pause between names), but looking at [name_f]Annamae[/name_f] I read it kind of like [name_f]Britney[/name_f] Spears would pronounce the word ‘enemy’ in a song… you know that drawl that she does trying to sound sexy? To me [name_f]Annamae[/name_f] ended up sounding like a different word altogether.
