Hey namberries do you perfer [name]Anne[/name] or [name]Anna[/name]?
and why
thank you!
[name]Anna[/name]! But [name]Anne[/name] is lovely too. I prefer [name]Anna[/name] because “an” is a word, and I just find [name]Anna[/name] prettier. Also, with [name]Anne[/name] you always have to specify with or without the “e.” [name]Anna[/name] has one spelling in English-speaking countries.
I prefer [name]Anna[/name]. For me, it’s a family name, but I also think it goes well with a lot of names. Also, like the previous poster mentioned, with [name]Anne[/name] you would have to clarify whether the name is spelled with an E or not.
[name]Anna[/name]! I think [name]Anne[/name] is very plain, but [name]Anna[/name] has more spark! [name]Anna[/name] could always have the NN [name]Anne[/name] as well [name]Anne[/name] might also limit your future children’s name possibilities. If later on you wanted to name your child something fancier, or even more than one syllable for that matter, [name]Anne[/name] might feel left out or jealous because her name is so plain. [name]Anna[/name] on the other hand goes so well with many different names that your future name options would be wide open
I also prefer [name]Anna[/name]. I love it’s sound more than I do [name]Anne[/name]. i find [name]Anne[/name] to sound abrupt.
My sister’s name is [name]Anna[/name] and I find myself shortening it to [name]Ann/name occasionally as a nickname. [name]Just[/name] wanted to throw that out there as an option! But I definitely like [name]Anna[/name] better. I’ve also been drawn to [name]Annika[/name] lately, another variant of the name.
Hate to be the voice of dissent, but I prefer [name]Anne[/name] - so classic and regal and trim and gorgeous!
I adore [name]Anna[/name] and find [name]Anne[/name] plain and boring. [name]Anna[/name] for me has a lovely romantic rounded sound. it’s classic and timeless but also has an air of something more about it - I think of Russian heroines, or French actresses, and there’s just something a little more too it. [name]Anne[/name] also sounds like “an” to me…an what? an apple? I keep waiting for something after it.
I prefer [name]Anne[/name]. Not sure exactly why but I suppose because it’s classic, simple, and lovely.
I prefer [name]Anne[/name], its looks more interesting and I actually think it has a nice ring to it. [name]Anna[/name] is so boring to me and really overused. I think more people use [name]Anna[/name] as a first name and [name]Anne[/name] as a middle name. I’d love to see an [name]Anne[/name] and the nn [name]Annie[/name] is cute.
[name]Anne[/name] is just so plain and boring although I do prefer that spelling to just ‘[name]Ann[/name]’. [name]Anna[/name] is pretty, timeless but with a bit more spunk, and can still go by [name]Anne[/name] or [name]Annie[/name] as a nn.
I love [name]Anna[/name]. It’s more romantic and dashing to me. ( I agree with the Russian heroines and French actresses comment). [name]Anne[/name] is sweet but seems dull in comparison.
I love [name]Anna[/name], as I find her classic, pretty and romantic. [name]Anne[/name] is nice, but [name]Anna[/name] is more complete.
I love [name]Anna[/name]! Like other posters have said, [name]Anna[/name] has a certain spark. It’s classic and timeless and yet spunky.
I love the name [name]Anna[/name]. It’s feminine and spunky.
I think [name]Anne[/name] just feels too old.
[name]Anne[/name]!
To me, [name]Anna[/name] is just so boring, haha. [name]Anne[/name] is just more interesting in its simplicity. It’s feminine, unpredictable, has tons of history, and is just lovely. It helps that one of my best friends in college was an [name]Ann[/name] (I prefer the [name]Anne[/name] spelling, though). I think [name]Annie[/name] works more naturally as a nn to [name]Anne[/name] than to [name]Anna[/name]. It seems most people want to keep [name]Anna[/name] just [name]Anna[/name], and I like [name]Annie[/name] so much more.
Good luck!
