[name_f]Zipporah[/name_f] is such a zippy, elegant name that feels energetic with a regal flair. Personally I adore the nickname [name_f]Zippy[/name_f] as well she’s spunky and spirited very fun. Looking at your combinations I think [name_f]Zipporah[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] & [name_f]Zipporah[/name_f] [name_f]Elouise[/name_f] are beautiful. Finally I think she works with your boys but not so much with Will@. I couldn’t envision [name_f]Zipporah[/name_f] & Will@ together.

However moving away from the name itself and onto the points raised by @seawillow[name_f][/name_f] I do feel [name_f]Zipporah[/name_f] feels very Jewish. [name_f]Zipporah[/name_f] unlike as @seawillow[name_f][/name_f] [name_m]David[/name_m] & [name_m]Levi[/name_m] haven’t crossed over into Christianity and isn’t well established amongst Christians. I think most would assume [name_f]Zipporah[/name_f] is Jewish. [name_f]My[/name_f] mum is Jewish and I’ve never seen [name_f]Zipporah[/name_f] used outside her community so I would be cautious about using [name_f]Zipporah[/name_f] as someone who isn’t Jewish. Ultimately I wouldn’t use an overtly Jewish name that hasn’t crossed into other communities as I wouldn’t want to partake in cultural appropriation.

it feels just a little too rare for those in our circle, and as you mentioned, i wouldn’t want her name to be seen as appropriation of any sort! dh and i just feel like that’s not a decision we can make for another person.

we’ve made a lot of breakthroughs in the last couple days, too. dh and i sat down last night and discussed all of our choices, and were very honest about what we wanted and didn’t want. i think if baby is a girl, she will be either luella or evangeline

I thoroughly enjoy the name [name_f]Zipporah[/name_f]. Would you consider using your maiden name that starts with the letter “Z” as a middle name for [name_f]Zipporah[/name_f]? Alliteration can be striking.
