Another twin mama- ISO nature twin to Vale

[name]Hi[/name]! [name]Just[/name] stumbled upon this forum and, wow, there are a lot of twin mamas! Another twin mama here. My twins aren’t due until [name]March[/name], but our DD wasn’t named until the week before she was born and I really don’t want to spend my last months of pregnancy talking names this time.

Learned this week that one twin is for sure a boy and one is almost certainly a girl.
The twins will join big sis, [name]Wren[/name]

We have a boy FN, [name]Vale[/name]. We are almost certain this will be his name. It is both a family name, and we like the naturey appeal. (I would be interested to hear spelling comments- [name]Vale[/name] is family spelling, but would it be better spelled [name]Vail[/name]?) [name]Vale[/name]'s MN is of some debate, I’m going to post separately about it.
[name]Vale[/name] [name]Arden[/name] J___sen
[name]Vale[/name] [name]Asher[/name] J___sen

We are stumped on baby girl’s name. We both like naturey names… just not the same ones! Hoping someone can suggest something we haven’t thought about (or tell me which ones to argue hard for! )

Names I [name]LOVE[/name] but DH has previously said no to:
[name]Lark[/name] (too much with [name]Wren[/name]?)

Names DH likes but I don’t love (they’re all okay to me, I just don’t love them, yk?)
[name]Willow[/name] (but he doesn’t like [name]Willa[/name]?!?)
[name]Avalon[/name], nn [name]Ava[/name] (also too much with [name]Wren[/name]?)
If it helps, DH’s name taste seem to CHANGE ALL THE TIME!! I have to write down his name list to show him later, otherwise he forgets what names he likes

[name]Wren[/name] has two middle names- so, it would seem best to give this baby two as well. First mn is a more ‘mainstream’ name, second is a family name
For family middles, we have

Which sounds best with [name]Vale[/name]?
I’m loving [name]Vale[/name] and [name]Eden[/name], but DH says no [name]Eden[/name]
What combos can you make?
Any other suggestions both DH and I might love?

Sorry, I couldn’t figure out if it was possible to edit original messages, but I forgot to add one of my favorite girl names
I didn’t include it because it is obviously way too matchy with [name]Vale[/name], but perhaps in a middle spot?

[name]Vale[/name] seems like a girl name to me because the only one I knew was a girl (spelt Vayle). Definitely spell it [name]Vale[/name]; [name]Vail[/name] looks even more feminine to me.

I absolutely love [name]Eden[/name] and [name]Avalon[/name]! [name]Avalon[/name] is my favorite, but I think [name]Eden[/name] goes better with [name]Vale[/name].
Some other naturesque girl names:

My favorite combo is: [name]Vale[/name] & [name]Skye[/name]

Some mns:
[name]Eden[/name] [name]Juliette[/name] [name]Mary[/name]
[name]Skye[/name] [name]Guinevere[/name] [name]Elise[/name]
[name]Raine[/name] [name]Aimee[/name] [name]Jo[/name]
[name]Jasmine[/name] [name]Rachael[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]
[name]Lucia[/name] [name]Noelle[/name] [name]Elise[/name]
[name]Ayla[/name] [name]Caitlin[/name] [name]Marie[/name]
[name]Aurora[/name] [name]Melanie[/name] [name]Jo[/name]
[name]Autumn[/name] [name]Gabrielle[/name] [name]Virginia[/name]
[name]East[/name] [name]Caroline[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]
[name]Oakley[/name] [name]Hannah[/name] [name]Marie[/name]
[name]Echo[/name] [name]Scarlet[/name] [name]Mary[/name]
[name]Jade[/name] [name]Vivienne[/name] [name]Norma[/name]
[name]Gypsy[/name] [name]Laine[/name] [name]Virginia[/name]

I think I like [name]Vale[/name] over [name]Vail[/name], probably because it makes me think of [name]Gale[/name]/[name]Gail[/name] and [name]Gale[/name] is used for men while [name]Gail[/name] is always female. As far as a sister name I think I like [name]Vale[/name] and [name]Ivy[/name] best. I really love [name]Vale[/name] and [name]Eden[/name] off your denied list though.

Oh, and I think [name]Vale[/name] [name]Asher[/name] flows better than [name]Vale[/name] [name]Arden[/name].

Definitely the [name]Vale[/name] spelling is more manly than [name]Vail[/name].

[name]Ivy[/name] and [name]Vale[/name] does have a nice ring, but I agree with you, it’s not my favorite name in the world. Hmm, nature-y names that go with [name]Vale[/name]…

And two non-nature-y names like [name]Eden[/name]:

I prefer the [name]Vale[/name] spelling as well…

I’ll try not to repeat

[name]How[/name] about [name]Sage[/name]?

I think [name]Wren[/name], [name]Vale[/name], and [name]Sage[/name] sound great together.

[name]Favorite[/name] middle name combo for [name]Sage[/name] of the MN options you provided is:

[name]Sage[/name] [name]Virginia[/name] [name]Elise[/name]

Congrats on the twins. [name]Wren[/name] and [name]Vale[/name] go really well together. Are you for sure wanting to stick with anoter naturey name? To me [name]Vale[/name] doesnt scream nature-name, so if you want to use a non nature name I think they would be fine too.
Off your list I like:
[name]Nola[/name]- This fits the light whimsical feeling of [name]Wren[/name], but is also uncommom like [name]Vale[/name]. This is probably my favorite off your list.
[name]Cora[/name]- My second favorite. I think it goes perfectly with [name]Wren[/name] and [name]Vale[/name].
[name]Ivy[/name]- The best choice off your list ifI you are looking for another nature name.

I’m a big fan of these combos:
[name]Vale[/name] and [name]Sequoia[/name]
[name]Vale[/name] and [name]Sage[/name]
[name]Vale[/name] and [name]Luna[/name]
[name]Vale[/name] and [name]Ember[/name]
[name]Vale[/name] and [name]Skye[/name]
[name]Vale[/name] and [name]Tempest[/name]
[name]Vale[/name] and [name]Aura[/name]
[name]Vale[/name] and [name]Aurora[/name]
[name]Vale[/name] and [name]Gaia[/name]
[name]Vale[/name] and [name]River[/name]
[name]Vale[/name] and [name]Fern[/name]

[name]Eden[/name]- its cute but i feel like its dated
[name]Lark[/name]- too much w wren and i feel like its even more Masculine than [name]Vale[/name].
[name]Nora[/name]- vary common in my area
[name]Nola[/name]- [name]Love[/name] this one
[name]Willa[/name]- cute

[name]Ivy[/name]- nice
[name]Willow[/name] (but he doesn’t like [name]Willa[/name]?!?)- like [name]Willa[/name] better
[name]Cora[/name]- cute
[name]Coraline[/name]- i like [name]Cora[/name] better
[name]Avalon[/name], nn [name]Ava[/name] (also too much with [name]Wren[/name]?)dont like [name]Ava[/name]
[name]Imogen[/name]- cute

My DH forgets what names he likes too! My vote goes to [name]Nola[/name]

Thanks for everyone’s help so far!

You’ve validated my feeling about the [name]Vale[/name]/[name]Vail[/name] spelling- we’ll stick w/ [name]Vale[/name].

You’ve given me some great fresh suggests- the ones that stick out are

I actually [name]LOVE[/name] [name]LOVE[/name] the suggestion of [name]Laurel[/name], and I hadn’t thought of it, and I think DH would like it, too (thanks, alexa!) BUUUUT… WDYT, are [name]Laurel[/name] and [name]Vale[/name] too sound-alike? They kind of run together in my mouth…

For everyone that suggested them, I like [name]Sage[/name] and [name]River[/name], but they seem boy to me.

I’m still stuck on [name]Eden[/name] and [name]Nola[/name] (of course, DH’s two least favorites of my names :frowning: ) I think I might pick one of them and ask if we can reopen it for discussion, bc, honestly, I like them more than [name]Wren[/name]'s name.
merylp- that’s interesting [name]Eden[/name] sounds dated to you. I’ve never heard it on a “real” girl, but, you’re right that, when I looked up stats, it seems to be riding the top of a huge wave of popularity. Maybe you’re right? Is [name]Eden[/name] gasp trendy-in-a-bad-way?

also, I’m certainly open to more name suggestions that aren’t overtly nature names… DH and I seem to have a harder time agreeing on names that aren’t word-names, but I’d love suggestions you think we would like based on our other lists.

Re. [name]Eden[/name]. I do think it is a bit trendy right now. I know a few little Edens, and their sibs are [name]Caden[/name], [name]Jayden[/name], etc.

Here are some names for [name]Vale[/name] that would flow well together. There are some nature and gem names but also other styles as well.

[name]Vale[/name] & [name]Flora[/name]
[name]Vale[/name] & [name]Crimson[/name]
[name]Vale[/name] & [name]Sequoia[/name]
[name]Vale[/name] & [name]Lilac[/name]
[name]Vale[/name] & [name]Jonquil[/name]
[name]Vale[/name] & [name]Mimosa[/name]
[name]Vale[/name] & [name]Anemone[/name]
[name]Vale[/name] & [name]Hyacinth[/name]
[name]Vale[/name] & [name]Amethyst[/name]
[name]Vale[/name] & [name]Magenta[/name]
[name]Vale[/name] & [name]Garnet[/name]
[name]Vale[/name] & [name]Topaz[/name]
[name]Vale[/name] & [name]Bronte[/name]
[name]Vale[/name] & [name]Iris[/name]
[name]Vale[/name] & [name]Romilly[/name]
[name]Vale[/name] & [name]Arcadia[/name]
[name]Vale[/name] & [name]Clio[/name]
[name]Vale[/name] & [name]Seneca[/name]
[name]Vale[/name] & [name]Clarity[/name]
[name]Vale[/name] & [name]Romy[/name]
[name]Vale[/name] & [name]Tamsin[/name]
[name]Vale[/name] & [name]Ramona[/name]
[name]Vale[/name] & [name]Ione[/name]
[name]Vale[/name] & [name]Adair[/name]
[name]Vale[/name] & [name]Phoebe[/name]
[name]Vale[/name] & [name]Saffron[/name]
[name]Vale[/name] & [name]Briony[/name]
[name]Vale[/name] & [name]Auden[/name]
[name]Vale[/name] & [name]Marlowe[/name]
[name]Vale[/name] & [name]Delaney[/name]
[name]Vale[/name] & [name]Juno[/name]
[name]Vale[/name] & [name]Maude[/name]
[name]Vale[/name] & [name]Romola[/name]

[name]Just[/name] to add my 2 cents… I love [name]Eden[/name] and while it is rising a bit in popularity I don’t think of it at all on the same level as jayden, cayden, etc. It is really a beautiful name and I think it goes great with [name]Vale[/name]. I do also love [name]Sage[/name], [name]Bay[/name] and [name]Poppy[/name] but think you should try to get hubby to reconsider [name]Eden[/name]. What is there not to like about it?

I love [name]Wren[/name] and [name]Vale[/name]! I agree [name]Vail[/name] is too feminine, and for some reason it really reminds me of [name]Val[/name], as in [name]Valerie[/name]. Anyway, for [name]Wren[/name] and [name]Vale[/name]'s sister - I vote [name]Vale[/name] [name]Asher[/name], too! - here are my ideas:

I love [name]Lark[/name], but it is too much with [name]Wren[/name]. I also love [name]Fern[/name] and [name]Sage[/name], and I think [name]Sage[/name] is perfect for a girl! I also think [name]Skye[/name] or [name]Rain[/name] would work, for something nature-friendly. What about something like [name]True[/name]? Or even [name]Prue[/name]? [name]Ciel[/name] is a bit heavenly and natural, but it has a bit too much similarity to [name]Vale[/name]. Or, what about [name]Roux[/name]? That’s sassy!

Yes, my favorites with [name]Wren[/name] and [name]Vale[/name] are 1) [name]Sage[/name], 2) [name]True[/name], and 3) [name]Roux[/name].

[name]Lemon[/name]

I’m still pulling for [name]Sage[/name], especially with [name]Virginia[/name] [name]Elise[/name] as middles: [name]Sage[/name] Virgina [name]Elise[/name] is just such a gorgeous name. Also love [name]Lemon[/name]'s suggestion of [name]True[/name], again with [name]Virginia[/name] [name]Elise[/name].

Awesome sibsets!
[name]Wren[/name], [name]Vale[/name], [name]Sage[/name]
[name]Wren[/name], [name]Vale[/name], [name]True[/name]

I feel like [name]Sage[/name] is more boy too. If I knew you had one son, out of [name]Wren[/name], [name]Vale[/name], and [name]Sage[/name] I would probably guess [name]Sage[/name] was the boy. Personally I adore [name]Fern[/name], and it’s one of my guilty pleasure names. It just doesn’t fit very well with the rest of the names I like, but it fits so well with your taste and I think you should use it!

Quick thoughts:

[name]Fern[/name] is fantastic, esp. with [name]Vale[/name] & [name]Wren[/name].
[name]Lark[/name] & [name]Wren[/name] are too similar.
[name]Sage[/name] is great and at this point, is equally for boys and girls in my book.

I really am not fond of [name]Aster[/name] (for how it sounds) or [name]Tempest[/name] (which I feel is a bit much to saddle a small child with growing up - it is a rather heavy word).

I think [name]Vale[/name] & [name]Laurel[/name] go well together, but that [name]Laurel[/name] feels common compared to the [name]Vale[/name] and [name]Wren[/name].

Also, I’m personally of the opinion that you can’t go wrong with the name [name]Sky[/name] (or [name]Skye[/name])!
