Currently loving Ansel/Anselm.
I’m from the US, and my Dad, who is an Ansel Adams fan, pronounces his name ANN-sell.
How would you pronounce this name? Like my Dad does, or like AHN-sell? Much like Hansel, I think both pronunciations are correct, just different accents.
And then with the “m” on the end for Anselm, would you just tack an m on the end? This sounds kind of clunky when I say it out loud, but it looks great on paper.
Thoughts on these names?

I’m in the UK. I’d pronounce [name_m]Ansel[/name_m] the same as your Dad. With [name_m]Anselm[/name_m] I’d guess that the L was silent and try Ann-sem and then Google it! The meaning is very special.
I say ANN-sull. I have a feeling we’re probably saying it the same way, just would write it differently. [name_u]Or[/name_u] close enough at least.
I say [name_m]Anselm[/name_m] as ANN-selm
I say ANN-sul and ANN-selm.
Ditto-ing ANN-sell pronunciation (and Ann-selm). And I love love love [name_m]Ansel[/name_m]. I think it’s so handsome, familiar enough but still quite quirky, and artsy without being totally out there

I usually say AHN-sell, but I’d be easily corrected if someone told me their name was [name_m]Ansel[/name_m] and they pronounced it ANN-sell.
I’d say [name_m]Ansel[/name_m] as your dad did and I’d say [name_m]Anselm[/name_m] like An-selm - with the L. I slightly prefer [name_m]Ansel[/name_m] but I like how [name_m]Anselm[/name_m] would be a variation and a kid’s own name
I’d pronounce [name_m]Ansel[/name_m] the same as your dad, and I add an M to the pronunciation for [name_m]Anselm[/name_m]. I personally LOVE the name [name_m]Anselm[/name_m], it’s on my list.
[name_f]Ann[/name_f] sell with no m is how I say it.
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_m]Ansel[/name_m] over [name_m]Anselm[/name_m]. I pronounce it ANN-sul. (I’m in the US.)
I think it’s such a great, strong, masculine name. Not over the top. I think [name_m]Anselm[/name_m] adds something unnecessary on at the end.
