I really love [name_f]Italy[/name_f] and so I’ve been looking through Italian names. What does everyone else think of my favourites so far? Does anyone have any other suggestions? Could any of these work outside of [name_f]Italy[/name_f], for example in the UK?
My current shortlist: [name_m]Aurelio[/name_m], [name_m]Angelo[/name_m], [name_m]Antonio[/name_m], [name_m]Alessandro[/name_m], [name_m]Alessio[/name_m], [name_m]Alonzo[/name_m], [name_m]Dante[/name_m], [name_m]Emilio[/name_m], [name_m]Leonardo[/name_m], [name_m]Luciano[/name_m], [name_m]Salvatore[/name_m], [name_m]Silvio[/name_m], [name_m]Vincenzo[/name_m].
I like [name_m]Dante[/name_m], [name_m]Leonardo[/name_m], and [name_m]Luciano[/name_m]. My favorite Italian names for boys are [name_m]Cristiano[/name_m] (really the only Italian boys’ name that I really love), [name_m]Benedetto[/name_m] (I think this is unspeakably cool! I’m just not sure how usable), and [name_u]Luca[/name_u].
I love [name_m]Angelo[/name_m] and had it on my list for a while. I dont know if all of these are italian in origin but they sound like they could be
[name_m]Matteo[/name_m]
[name_m]Marcello[/name_m]
[name_m]Giovanni[/name_m]
[name_u]Luca[/name_u]
[name_m]Rocco[/name_m]
[name_m]Valentino[/name_m]
I like [name_m]Dante[/name_m] & [name_m]Leonardo[/name_m] a lot! I was born in [name_f]Italy[/name_f], adopted by an American family, and made/remain in contact with my Italian birth mother. She has since had two little boys, [name_m]Enzo[/name_m] & [name_m]Marco[/name_m]. Much simpler names but I love them.
I love your list so far, especially [name_m]Angelo[/name_m], [name_m]Alonzo[/name_m], [name_m]Dante[/name_m], [name_m]Emilio[/name_m] and [name_m]Luciano[/name_m]. Okay bear with me here, I really like Italian names!

I love [name_f]Italy[/name_f] too, I’m going on tour for a week in summer, and I’m really looking forward to it :). Anyway, from your list, I love [name_m]Leonardo[/name_m] and [name_m]Alonzo[/name_m] and from my own I absolutely adore [name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m], and [name_u]Luca[/name_u], as pp’s have mentioned. I also had a good friend called [name_m]Dante[/name_m] who wasn’t Italian, and it worked fine (in the UK). I think most of the names you listed are recognisable outside of [name_f]Italy[/name_f], at least in English speaking countries. Maybe some pronunciation issues with the ‘ch’ sounds in [name_m]Luciano[/name_m] and [name_m]Vincenzo[/name_m] might be a bit harder to grasp, but I don’t think that would be too difficult to solve/correct.
Thanks everyone for their lovely comments and suggestions so far! I really like [name_m]Enzo[/name_m], [name_m]Benedetto[/name_m], [name_m]Donatello[/name_m], [name_m]Gino[/name_m], [name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m], [name_m]Pietro[/name_m], [name_u]Rosario[/name_u] and [name_m]Valentino[/name_m].
I love [name_m]Eliseo[/name_m]. (Prn [name_u]Ellis[/name_u]-AY-oh) I really wanted to use it for my son but wasn’t bold enough- we have no Italian background, and so my family thought it was weird. I think it could totally work though, because he could also be called [name_u]Ellis[/name_u].
I like
[name_m]Angelo[/name_m]
[name_m]Luciano[/name_m]
[name_m]Matteo[/name_m] and
[name_m]Giovani[/name_m] the best.
I also know a 5 year old Serefino
I love the names [name_m]Ezio[/name_m], [name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m] and [name_m]Leonardo[/name_m]. My fiancé is Brazilian with mostly Italian and Native ancestry. We’ll probably end up using an Italian name.
[name_m]Ezio[/name_m] is a new one for me. I quite like it!
[name_m]Ezio[/name_m] is a new one for me. I quite like it!
I love Italian names. One that hasn’t been mentioned yet that I fell in love with recently is [name_m]Damiano[/name_m]!
My nephews all have italian names; Nell0, [name_m]Bruno[/name_m], [name_m]Romano[/name_m], middles: [name_m]Michelangelo[/name_m], Agustino, and Giandomenico
Thanks, particularly like [name_m]Damiano[/name_m]!
