Any suggestions?

[name_u]Baby[/name_u] girl is due mid [name_u]November[/name_u], and we still can’t decide on a name. Our front runners are [name_u]Scout[/name_u] [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] or [name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_f]Isabella[/name_f]. The issue with [name_u]Scout[/name_u] is there was a family pet with the name [name_u]Scout[/name_u] that died about 5 years ago, so even though it’s our favorite, we’re having a hard time committing. The problem with [name_u]Finn[/name_u] is for some reason I feel like her name should start with an S because our last name starts with an S. Ugh…I have 3 sons and I never had this much trouble deciding on a name! Please help!

Any other “S” name suggestions for me? I tend to like boyish or unisex names, but at this point we’re pulling our hair out trying to decide so I’m totally open to any other suggestions, lol! Thanks In Advance!

Well, I’m no expert on unisex or boy names for girls because it’s not my style, but one name did jump in to my head: [name_u]Skylar[/name_u].

This name feels so feminine to me that I was shocked to learn it was used for boys at all! I really like it, too.

[name_u]Skylar[/name_u] [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] sounds so nice =]

[name_u]Sutton[/name_u] [name_f]Isabella[/name_f]?

You could use [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u], [name_u]Skylar[/name_u], [name_u]Sailor[/name_u],
or, more feminine: [name_f]Selah[/name_f], [name_f]Sara[/name_f],

I like [name_f]Cecile[/name_f] or [name_f]Cecily[/name_f]. It starts with the same sound without looking repetitive with an S surname, is strong but feminine, not too outrageous or common, and comes with the boyish nickname Cec. A perfect choice in your situation!

[name_u]Skyler[/name_u] (although I do have to admit I am bias to this name because my name is [name_u]Skyler[/name_u] haha :stuck_out_tongue: )

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps!

[name_m]Just[/name_m] a couple ideas but [name_f]Scarlet[/name_f] [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] with the nn [name_u]Scout[/name_u] could be really cute. Or [name_f]Scarlet[/name_f] could have the nn [name_u]Scottie[/name_u].

I also like [name_u]Finley[/name_u] [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] nn [name_u]Finn[/name_u] for a girl. Something about the ‘ley’ makes it a bit more feminine to me.

[name_u]Stevie[/name_u] is also cute for a girl!

Best of luck!

[name_u]Stevie[/name_u] [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] is adorable, I really like the name [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u] for a girl.

Other suggestions:

[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_u]Spencer[/name_u] or [name_u]Simone[/name_u]?

Thanks for all of the suggestions! So far, I really like [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u], [name_u]Skylar[/name_u], [name_u]Sutton[/name_u] and [name_u]Sydney[/name_u]. I also have ran [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] and [name_u]Spencer[/name_u] by DH and I got a very firm NO, lol. I also really like the name [name_u]Hudson[/name_u], and although it doesn’t start with an “S,” something about the “-son” at the end makes it flow nicely with our last name. DH joked around that we should name her [name_u]Finn[/name_u] because she will be our last child, as in “fin” or the end, lol.

So what opinions do you guys have on [name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] or [name_u]Hudson[/name_u] [name_f]Isabella[/name_f]? Cute or ridiculous? I wouldn’t be opposed to Finley as the official first name, but we’d call her Finn all the time, as long as Finley isn’t too popular.

I still think [name_u]Skylar[/name_u] is the best. [name_u]Finn[/name_u] and [name_u]Hudson[/name_u] are not my cup of tea, especially for a girl.

I also liked the suggestions of [name_u]Stacey[/name_u], [name_u]Sierra[/name_u], [name_u]Shaye[/name_u], [name_u]Shannon[/name_u], and [name_u]Sasha[/name_u].

I personally do not like [name_u]Finn[/name_u] on a girl. [name_u]Scout[/name_u] is nms, but better than [name_u]Finn[/name_u]. I second the previous suggestion of [name_u]Sloane[/name_u]. [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] is a lovely name:) I also like [name_u]Sage[/name_u]/[name_u]Saige[/name_u] [name_f]Isabella[/name_f], [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Isabella[/name_f], and [name_u]Simone[/name_u] [name_f]Isabella[/name_f].

I think [name_u]Finn[/name_u] is better than [name_u]Hudson[/name_u], but I would go with [name_u]Finley[/name_u] [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] and use [name_u]Finn[/name_u] as a nickname just like you said. Best of luck!

What about these?

Of your latest options, I really like [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u], [name_u]Skylar[/name_u] and [name_u]Sydney[/name_u]. [name_u]Sydney[/name_u] in particular seems underused but classic, and it’s always nice to meet a girl named [name_u]Sydney[/name_u].

I’m not a big fan of [name_u]Finn[/name_u] for a girl — in general I like unisex names and I like [name_u]Finn[/name_u], but it’s become so popular for boys that you have a serious risk of her being known as “girl [name_u]Finn[/name_u]” in her classes and growing up. And that seems to negate the point of a unisex name, if it just makes everyone point out that she’s the girl all the time.

A friend of mine just named her daughter [name_u]Hudson[/name_u]. I want to love it, but honestly there’s a weird dissonance when she introduces “my daughter, [name_u]Hudson[/name_u].” That will probably fade as she gets older, but the “son” element is so strong that it seems to throw people off more than most other unisex names would.

I named my daughter [name_u]Scout[/name_u]! I just instantly fell in love with the name. We get mixed opinions on it but it fits her! My first name is [name_u]Hunter[/name_u], so [name_u]Scout[/name_u] wasn’t a leap of faith or anything for me! My [name_u]Scout[/name_u] is [name_u]Scout[/name_u] Mckenzie. We also considered:
[name_u]Scout[/name_u] [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f]
[name_u]Scout[/name_u] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] (my favorite!)
[name_u]Scout[/name_u] [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]

None of these are my style. I’m not a fan of boys names on girls. I like the suggestion of [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] called [name_u]Scout[/name_u], and I like [name_u]Sage[/name_u] [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] a lot
