Any way to report spam threads?

There have been lots of spam pages popping up in the forums and I was wondering if there was any way to report them without actually going into the thread? I’m worried that I’ll get a virus if I actually open the page and right now they’re clogging up the Girls forum so much that it’s difficult to find other pages.

I was just thinking the same thing.

[name_f]Edit[/name_f]: I believe the [name_u]Baby[/name_u] Name Games and [name_f]Pet[/name_f] Names threads are affected as well. I guess someone has too much time on their hands, hopefully it’ll be resolved soon.

At the moment, the [name_u]Baby[/name_u] Name Games forum has 24 pages filled with spam. This has been going on now for 3 or 4 days! UGH

The Girl Names forum has a similar amount, I believe. Very frustrating!

I was looking to see if there’s a mod online I can PM, but I don’t think there is atm. I wish there was something we could do about all of this.

Hey guys, we’re very much aware of the issue and trying to stop these spammers as soon as possible! Thanks to everyone who has let us know by reporting posts/sending PMs. The IT gurus are working on tightening spam filters and hopefully this issue will be resolved very soon!

FYI there is a button at the bottom left of each post (a triangle with an exclamation mark inside) which you can click on in order to report a post.

Its getting really annoying. [name_f]Hope[/name_f] a solution is found soon.

Thank you for the update @sarahmezz. Unfortunately, the only way to report a post is to open the page and I think many of us are very leery to do so.

I’ll have to agree with @elderberry. Thank you very much, @sarahmezz, but I don’t think most of us are comfortable opening a post. Would it be at all helpful if we PMed you or another mod?

I’ve been opening the posts and reporting them without a problem, but you have to wait 60 seconds before reporting another post. Reporting a page of spam takes me almost fifteen minutes. I also understand the fear of opening them, and I’m careful before I do so.

Also: the [name_u]Baby[/name_u] Name Games has almost five pages of complete spam, all the exact same by the same user. It appears to be the same person with a new account, as the spam is the same thing but under a different username.

Actually I don’t think this is a person at all. I’m pretty sure it’s a programm. I’ve spotted bots on nameberry before.

Is there a way to report the user instead of each individual post?

You can PM me if you’d rather not click on a post to report.

However, I’m very aware of all the Chinese character spam posts atm and am deleting them regularly so you probably don’t need to report those.

You poor moderators have your work cut out for you. They need to put more moderators in.

Both the [name_u]Baby[/name_u] Name Games and Momberries forum contain spam. sigh
