[name_f]Emily[/name_f] was by far the most popular girls’ name in my high school class (I graduated 5 years ago, in the US). We also had a ton of girls with two-syllable C or K names like [name_f]Kylie[/name_f], [name_f]Kayla[/name_f], [name_f]Katherine[/name_f], [name_m]Casey[/name_m], etc, to the point that one of my out-of-school friends joked she couldn’t keep track of who was who

Probably the most interesting thing was the lack of some super popular names - we had a bunch of Emilys, but not a single [name_f]Madison[/name_f], [name_f]Hannah[/name_f], [name_f]Alexis[/name_f], [name_f]Ashley[/name_f], etc in my year - all of which were top 10 names when I was born! There were a few of them in the year ahead/behind, but I don’t remember a single [name_f]Madison[/name_f] at our school, which is statistically wild! Part of it was probably the demographics of where I grew up - I knew a lot of people with non-English names that didn’t rank in the US but were quite popular locally (I went to school with multiple girls named [name_f]Sahana[/name_f], for example)
