Anyone Else Notice Name Trends in Their Year Group?

I’m from the UK I finished sixth form in '17. There was 280 ish kids in my year

[name_m]The[/name_m] most popular names were:

[name_f]Olivia[/name_f]
[name_f]Megan[/name_f]
[name_f]Jessica[/name_f]
[name_f]Hannah[/name_f]
[name_f]Rebecca[/name_f]
[name_f]Amy[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]

[name_m]Benjamin[/name_m]
[name_m]Thomas[/name_m]
[name_m]Jack[/name_m]
[name_m]Matthew[/name_m]

If there was a equal split of boys and girls so 140 of each gender. I think there were about 7 Megan’s and 7 Olivia’s making approximately 1 in 10 girls in my year [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] or [name_f]Megan[/name_f], which is crazy.

  • 2 girls had double barrels, both of which had the second half -Louise.
  • I think less than 20 kids in my year group were the only ones with their names
