On an old thread including this name, I got a lot of “prune” feedback…but does anyone like this name? ![]()
I love the [name_f]Prue[/name_f] nickname, but I would rather use [name_f]Prudence[/name_f] to get it, personally.
I like [name_f]Prudence[/name_f] a lot more
There are so many beautiful, feminine -ella names, but I just am not able to get over the prune references as you said.
[name_f]Prunella[/name_f] was the name of a snotty character off of [name_m]Arthur[/name_m]. Prunella Deegan | Arthur Wiki | Fandom
Not so sure I can get past the cartoon.
I actually really like it. But I also love [name_f]Prudence[/name_f] and [name_f]Fenella[/name_f] is one of my favourites right now.
[name_f]Nellie[/name_f] and [name_f]Prue[/name_f] would be adorable nicknames. I also love the fact it has the word prune in it… it makes it seem very summery and pretty for some reason (I was also about to use the term ‘‘current’’ because of Olivia/Olive/Plum/Clementine being so trendy, but the pun is just to much, ha).
Honestly, I like [name_f]Prudence[/name_f] ([name_f]Prue[/name_f]) and I love [name_f]Petronella[/name_f] (I have no idea why) - I don’t like [name_f]Prunella[/name_f]. It would feel like a no brainer but I think the dominance of [name_f]Prune[/name_f] in the name is unfortunate and taints it for me. Sorry, wish I could be more on board with this name.
I was just thinking about [name_f]Prunella[/name_f] this morning! It has the popular ‘ella’ ending, plus cute and spunky nickname [name_f]Prue[/name_f]! If you prefer cutesy nicknames it has the option of [name_f]Nellie[/name_f] or [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]… or for something more unusual there’s always [name_f]Plum[/name_f] (‘prune’ is [name_m]French[/name_m] for plum).
I wouldn’t use [name_f]Prunella[/name_f] myself, but I think it’s great!!
This name is very similar to my great grandmothers middle name which was [name_f]Pernella[/name_f]. I see the appeal tho but I don’t think I would use it as a first name? It’s more of a middle name? I like [name_f]Prudence[/name_f] better.
I love it. I dislike [name_f]Prudence[/name_f] and I like [name_f]Prunella[/name_f] bc you get [name_f]Pru[/name_f], and it was also used in a fairytale. I do realize it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, though.
