Appoline or Apolline?

I can’t figure out which is the best spelling of [name]Apolline[/name]/[name]Appoline[/name]!

From what I’ve read on French forums, [name]Apolline[/name] is generally held as the “original” spelling because it comes from [name]Apollo[/name], but [name]Appoline[/name] is more widely used. I usually prefer the original/correct name spellings, but this time I’m really not sure either way. [name]Both[/name] ways look right to me…

So what do you Berries think? Which spelling do you prefer, and why?

P.S. If I ever used this for a daughter, the nickname would most likely be [name]Apple[/name]

[name]Apolline[/name] - that’s the only way I’ve ever seen it spelled. I love it because of the potential nn [name]Polly[/name]

[name]Apolline[/name] is the French form of [name]Apollonia[/name] and the female equivalent of [name]Apollo[/name] so this is my preferred spelling. You can still call her by the nn [name]Apple[/name].

I’m going to have to agree with the other posters and say that I prefer the Appolline spelling.

[name]Apolline[/name], definitely! [name]Appoline[/name] looks kind of weird I think ; )

another vote for [name]Apolline[/name]. [name]Love[/name] this name!

[name]Apolline[/name] it is then!

I like [name]Appoline[/name] more.
