My favourite name at the moment is [name]April[/name], What are peoples thoughts on [name]April[/name]? What would you use as a nickname? if any?
I was briefly named [name]April[/name] (and [name]Jennifer[/name] - long story)! Have to say Im glad my parents didnt stick with it but I do know a very nice girl with the name and with the right middle it could be lovely
Still cute and pleasant. I don’t tire of names easily. No easy nicknames, which is a plus in my book.
Makes me think of pretty springtime. Not my favorite by any means but it’d be kind of neat to meet a little girl with that name. I’ve been thinking a lot about how we need a new word for a certain kind of name: Names that were popular enough when those of us in our 20s and 30s were growing up that we associate the name with people that age, but not overwhelmingly enough so (OR, grounded enough in history) that the tiredness rises to proportions of [name]Jessica[/name] or [name]Jennifer[/name] or [name]Ashley[/name] or [name]Amanda[/name] or [name]Heather[/name]. I would put [name]Amy[/name], [name]April[/name], [name]Diana[/name], [name]Sabrina[/name], and [name]Miranda[/name] in that category, I think, among others.
Good luck!
I don’t really like it - it just doesn’t sound nice to my ears and the only [name]April[/name]'s I’ve known have been really chavvy and slutty. I can’t think of any nicknames either.
[name]April[/name] is one of my favorite names because it seems classic to me. I wouldn’t use a nickname, but that’s a plus for me. I think it would work well at any age and on any girl!
I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]April[/name]. It’s definitely on my list for a very simple reason: I love the month. I love when everything is coming alive because it makes me feel more alive. Bonus: it’s my birthday month. I would feel wary of naming a baby [name]April[/name] who was born in the month, herself, because it seems a little obvious, but otherwise it’s in my top 10 names for a future daughter. And I don’t think there are any obvious nn’s, either!
I’m in the process of changing my own name, and I considered April myself. It’s my birth month and I think I look like and April, so I thought it be a splendid fit. I’ve since pushed it aside though.
I think April is a lovely name, it does however have a rather “dated” feel to it. One thing that bothered me about the name was the fact it was month name. I felt is wasn’t really a name, it didn’t have enough substance to it for me. I was going to pair it with the middle names of Charlotte, or Charlotte-Noel.
April Charlotte, or April Charlotte-Noel.
I know of April’s nicknamed Apricot, I think it’s super cute.
I don’t love it and I don’t hate it. I would use it for a child born in that month though. Maybe I’m to “theme-y” for others’ taste but I just really don’t “get” using a month (or season, for that matter) name when the person has no connection to it.
