Which name do you prefer? And what type of person comes to mind with each name?
Thanks in advance!
I prefer [name_f]Arabella[/name_f], because I like its sound more. For [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] and [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] a similar person comes to mind: posh, elegant, arogant, polite, calm, eloquent.
[name_f]Arabella[/name_f] for me! Both names feel very feminine & elegant, but there’s something sweeter & slightly more down-to-earth about [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] which I like, as well as the melodic sound!
Both are lovely!
However my favourite is [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] I just like the magical, sparkly flair of the name. She has a pretty princess feel and I like the holy angelic meaning surrounding [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] along with the nickname [name_f]Bella[/name_f].
I pick [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] I’ve liked it since the first time I heard it many years ago on tv. It’s not used in my country.
I imagine a sophisticated, charismatic, intelligent little lady.
[name_f]Celeste[/name_f] is also a very nice name, I imagine a kind, quiet child with light blue eyes ( in my country “celeste” is a female name and also the name of the colour, light blue)
I like [name_f]Celeste[/name_f]! It feels bright and starry, but grounded and wise too.
[name_f]Arabella[/name_f] is elegant and pretty too
[name_m]Welcome[/name_m]! I prefer [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] because [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] comes across a bit more dated.
[name_f]Arabella[/name_f] is a witch’s cauldron, deep purple, and foggy nights to me. So eccentric and reclusive.
[name_f]Celeste[/name_f] is a deep blue black night sky, a summer meadow, and crisp berry tea to me. So outgoing with some mystery.
I vote [name_f]Celeste[/name_f]!
Both are lovely names.
If you plan to use [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] in full (no nickname), I’d keep it in the running.
[name_f]Celeste[/name_f] is less likely to be shortened. It’s a sweet spot first name: known, but uncommon, with a couple of good meanings (heaven, light blue).
I prefer [name_f]Celeste[/name_f]! It gives more classy but laid back vibes vs. [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] which to me reads more preppy/high maintenance. I also am personally not a fan of the nickname [name_f]Bella[/name_f] at all and I think [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] would get shortened to that often, whether you like it or not.
I like [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] and love [name_f]Celeste[/name_f]. [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] has substantial history as a name without sounding like anything else and it lingers lowers on the charts. [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] is beautiful and graceful, but there are a lot of -bell/bella names and a lot of longer A- names that people favor.
[name_f]Celeste[/name_f] is magical and kind, a fun but pensive little girl and a capable, upbeat woman.
[name_f]Arabella[/name_f] is elegant, princessy, a ballerina and castle girl and a mysterious, sexy woman.
I prefer [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] - and I agree with @TiffanyS that it’s a sweet spot name. [name_f]My[/name_f] first association is [name_f]Queen[/name_f] [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] from the [name_m]Babar[/name_m] series.
[name_f]Arabella[/name_f] is nice, but it feels a bit too princessy for me. It makes me think of a little girl I know with the name. She wears it well, but I still prefer [name_f]Celeste[/name_f].
I would meet in the middle of the two with [name_f]Celestia[/name_f]. Not a fan of [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] at all.
I like [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] a bit more, but I love [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] too. But it’s always been a bit more middle name-y
Celeste
She is starry eyed - with a tendency to romanticize the world around her. Her favorite navy blue tulle dress brings out the blue in her eyes as she meets her friends for summer stargazing. She is very in tune to the ebbs and flows of nature and of life. Even though you can’t put your finger on exactly how she is different from her peers - she has an energy about her that is unique and mysterious and kind.
[name_f]Arabella[/name_f] is my preference, it’s light and feminine and even sort of fairytale-esque
[name_f]Celeste[/name_f] is very pretty but I feel like the person has to really live up to it as a name: it’s very regal maybe, very grand. Idk haha I like [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] a lot too honestly
I like both names. [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] is a name I’ve liked for a while; [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] is the name two of my friends have called their daughters. I agree with others that [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] is pretty and twinkly but also more tailored and casual. [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] is more preppy princessy, but in a very charming and fun way. I think it comes down to nickname preferences - one of my friends didn’t like [name_f]Bella[/name_f] but hoped [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] could be used in full but that just wasn’t going to happen esp in Australia. [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] is more likely to be said in full, even here!
[name_f]Arabella[/name_f]
Both lovely names, I think I have to vote for [name_f]Celeste[/name_f]! Sweet, sparkling and nn [name_f]Cece[/name_f] is adorable; I like [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] but the ‘-bella’ ending is a little bit frilly to me. [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] has a simple elegance
