Arabic and/or Turkish names

I’m not expecting yet or anything, but would really like to broaden my knowledge and list of Arabic and/or Turkish girl names. I come from a Muslim family with origins (my grandparents) in Turkey and even though I don’t follow any sort of religion and unfortunately don’t speak the language, It’s really important to me to incorporate that aspect of my family’s background to my future kids’ names… Here’s my “formula”:

Well established and short Arabic name + A feminine and more popular name that has somewhat to do with Turkish history (Example: Hagia [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] and Constantinople).

Some names I have considered are [name_f]Leila[/name_f]/[name_f]Laila[/name_f], [name_f]Asha[/name_f], [name_f]Ayla[/name_f], [name_f]Amina[/name_f] and [name_u]Elif[/name_u] which are all names with family ties but that I haven’t felt that spark towards.

[name_f]Aylin[/name_f] … means halo around the moon in Turkish ,and is my favorite

@hunnybabbi, [name_f]Aylin[/name_f] is very nice, thanks for the suggestion.

When I lived/travelled in Turkiye (many years ago!) I came across a few names that stuck in my mind!

Girls:
Emine (pron em-in-NAY)
Ceyda (Pron [name_f]Jayda[/name_f])
Dilek
[name_f]Sana[/name_f]
Ilkin
Hulia

Boys:
Atilla
Cem (pron [name_u]Jem[/name_u])
[name_m]Hakan[/name_m]

I love [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] and it’s meaning!

Arabic:

[name_f]Zara[/name_f]
[name_u]Ara[/name_u]
[name_f]Hala[/name_f]
[name_f]Naja[/name_f]
[name_f]Nadira[/name_f]
[name_f]Nazira[/name_f]
[name_f]Noor[/name_f]
[name_f]Nasima[/name_f]
[name_f]Samira[/name_f]
[name_u]Vega[/name_u]
[name_f]Cyra[/name_f]

“A feminine and more popular name that has somewhat to do with Turkish history” I [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t know anything about Turkish history unfortunately

[name_m]Esra[/name_m] is Turkish. It has some romantic associations with the “night journey” of a pilgrim in the Qu’ran. (I liked [name_m]Esra[/name_m] [name_f]Faye[/name_f].)
