Are any of these sweet-spot names?

Names that are heard of but not used a lot? Like a name that most people would recognize and understand but would still stand out from the crowd. Are these names too obscure (or too popular) or do they fit that category?

[name]Calista[/name]
[name]Clio[/name] (like the muse, not like a nn for [name]Cleopatra[/name])
[name]Camilla[/name]
[name]Freya[/name]
[name]Violet[/name]
[name]Anthea[/name]
[name]Christabel[/name]

[name]Love[/name] ‘[name]Violet[/name]’. Would use it myself, but last name starts with D.

Really like all those - favourites being [name]Violet[/name] and [name]Freya[/name]. [name]Camilla[/name] in [name]England[/name] is quite popular - I have met quite a few but I have never met a [name]Calista[/name]!

I really adore all of these with the exception of [name]Freya[/name], it feels a little too obscure, I guess and I can’t imagine it flowing well in a full name, though it could be lovely if paired right. I like [name]Clio[/name] especially given the reference point.

I like [name]Calista[/name]! I think both [name]Violet[/name] and [name]Camila[/name] are very pretty, but more popular than you would think.

[name]How[/name] do you pronounce [name]Clio[/name]? I have no idea. I don’t know muses.
I also don’t much about [name]Anthea[/name]. I pronounce [name]Anne[/name]-thea. I don’t know. When I saw it, I thought it was [name]Athena[/name] for a minute.
The rest are not obscure. [name]Freya[/name] is great if you’re American. Most people can pronounce it. The [name]Brit[/name] berries say it’s popular I think.
I like [name]Calista[/name] the best, although maybe with two lls.
Good [name]Luck[/name]!

I feel like people may not recognize [name]Anthea[/name], but would be able to pronounce/spell it easily.

And although I really like [name]Violet[/name] I think it is a little on the popular side (#89) vs the rest of your names are not even in the top 1000 with the exception of [name]Camilla[/name] at 437.

To me the sweet spot names would be [name]Camilla[/name], [name]Calista[/name], [name]Clio[/name], and [name]Freya[/name]

I feel like [name]Camilla[/name] and [name]Violet[/name] fall into the category you’re talking about, beautiful names!

I think [name]Violet[/name] and [name]Camilla[/name] are too popular for that category. And some of the others might be too obscure. [name]Calista[/name] fits the bill the best, imo.

[name]Calista[/name] - I thought this was a made up name before NB, I’d only ever heard of Flockheart.
[name]Clio[/name] - the only [name]Cleo[/name]/[name]Clio[/name] I’d ever heard of before NB was the psychic on TV in the 90’s.
[name]Camilla[/name] - the only [name]Camilla[/name] I’ve heard of is the wife of the [name]Prince[/name] [name]Charles[/name].
[name]Freya[/name] - I’d never heard of this name before NB, I thought it was a joke at first. Probably depends on where you’re from.
[name]Violet[/name] - I’d say this one is rather common actually. I’ve known several.
[name]Anthea[/name] - I’d never heard this name before NB either. I first thought it was a misspelling of [name]Althea[/name]. But I suppose it would fall into the category.
[name]Christabel[/name] - this one looks like a smoosh name to me, I know it’s not, but that would have been my first thought a few years back.

Names that I feel fall into the “sweet-spot”

[name]Viola[/name]
[name]Cordelia[/name]
[name]Petra[/name]
[name]Nell[/name]
[name]Dinah[/name]
[name]Opal[/name]
[name]Linnea[/name]

I’ve never met anyone with any of those names, but I’ve always known they were names. Though, obviously a lot of this depends on personal experience.
I’m sure there’s someone out there who’s never met a single [name]Jennifer[/name], but anyway

I adore [name]Anthea[/name], though I don’t think most people are familiar with it. (I love [name]Althea[/name] even more.)
[name]Every[/name] other option but [name]Violet[/name] is plausibly in the sweet spot. [name]Violet[/name]–although charming–feels more popular than the others.

I think [name]Callista[/name] has two “Ls” no? It fits the bill to me.

I love [name]Anthea[/name], but I hear Americans pronouncing it ann-THEE-yah, rather than [name]Ann[/name]-[name]TAY[/name]-ah, which I believe is the correct pronunciation, as in Parmigianino’s famous painting Portrait of a [name]Young[/name] Girl Named [name]Anthea[/name]. I like it, but only with that way of saying it.

I feel like [name]Freya[/name] embodies all of those “sweet-spot” qualities. I would say [name]Violet[/name], but it’s getting increasingly more common. However, I still think its “sweet-spot” worthy. The rest seems too obscure, besides [name]Christabel[/name] sounds like she belongs out on the farm milkin’ cows.

[name]Calista[/name] + [name]Anthea[/name] fit for sure

[name]Violet[/name], [name]Anthea[/name], [name]Calista[/name], and [name]Camilla[/name] fit that description to me. [name]Violet[/name]'s becoming trendy, and it’s more popular than the others, but it’s still refreshing enough and uncommon enough that it feels very fresh to me. I’d love to meet a little girl with any of those names!

I feel like [name]Clio[/name] and [name]Freya[/name] should fit that, too–I admit, I just don’t like them very much. :frowning: Nice names, just not for me.

[name]Calista[/name] - Fits, but a little less common but easy to say and spell.
[name]Clio[/name] - is it pn [name]Cleo[/name]? I like it though.
[name]Camilla[/name] - Fits the sweet spot
[name]Freya[/name] -[name]Love[/name] [name]Freya[/name]!
[name]Violet[/name] - Very popular right now and moving up I think.
[name]Anthea[/name] - [name]Love[/name] it - but I do pn it [name]Ann[/name]-THEE-a is that right?
[name]Christabel[/name] - This is obscure but easily said
