Are Caia/Kaia the same?

[name]Do[/name] you view these two names as pretty much the same name? I was just reading an article /comments on cafe mom regarding nameberrys current blog list and most everyone hated all the names on the list and said [name]Caia[/name] sounded like [name]Cayenne[/name] pepper. [name]Kaia[/name] has alwaya gotten great reviews on nameberry so Im suprised. [name]Do[/name] you think they are essentially the same name? Maybe [name]Kaia[/name] isnt going to be recieved well in the real world since [name]Caia[/name] obviously isnt?

I never would of thought [name]Caia[/name] = [name]Cayenne[/name] pepper lol, and honestly, the association doesn’t stick in my mind. [name]Kaia[/name] is a variant of [name]Caia[/name], and the male Hawaiian name [name]Kai[/name] (according to nameberry). thinkbabynames.com also has a few different meanings listed for [name]Kaia[/name]. I like [name]Kaia[/name] the best, however I think both [name]Caia[/name] & [name]Kaia[/name] are quite pretty, and if I met a little [name]Caia[/name]/[name]Kaia[/name] on the street, I’d probably be a itty bitty jealous of her name. Go for it.

It says ‘iy’ is the IY sound in bite, or bye-t. So it is [name]Kye[/name]-uh.

Oh I missed the iy on the list, so your conclusion is that its like maya only with a k?

[name]Kaia[/name] is said kye-ah (kye rhymes with bye) and it’s just like [name]Maia[/name], [name]Gaia[/name], etc… [name]Kaia[/name] is just a spelling variation of [name]Caia[/name] and I can see that cye is the same sound as the beginning of [name]Cayenne[/name] (sort of) and the C I guess makes people see that. I love [name]Kaia[/name]/[name]Caia[/name] though (not as a much as [name]Gaia[/name]) and so I wouldn’t worry at all.

I know a [name]Kaia[/name] and I think she generally likes her name/has no bad experience with it. Personally I don’t care about spelling [name]Caia[/name]/[name]Kaia[/name], it’s about the same thing as [name]Catherine[/name] vs. [name]Katherine[/name] so if you have a preference for one letter over the other that’s fine. I do think [name]Kaia[/name] is probably a bit more familiar, but, both seem fine.

What’s so bad about cayenne pepper? I can see people even using [name]Cayenne[/name] as a name : D.

Still looking for more opinions on if you view [name]Caia[/name] and [name]Kaia[/name] as the same. The reason being that [name]Kaia[/name] always seems to get positive feedback on nameberry but after the recent blog where [name]Caia[/name] was mentioned, people who were commenting on the article on a different website (cafe mom and it was juat in the regular article section, not name section) seemed to hate all the names listed and acted like they were all weird, [name]Caia[/name] included. So Im wondering if [name]Kaia[/name] is going to be veiwed as a weird name in the real world? I get the pronounciation of it now. Thanks in advance to everyone for your thoughts!

Would love to get some more opinions. Thank you!

i think its pretty (with either spelling), and that the association doesn’t automatically follow. and even if it does to a few people, it doesn’t bug me that much.

Yup, same name. I prefer [name]Kaia[/name], but im biased as thats my daughters name: [name]Kaia[/name] [name]Felicity[/name]
