Are these Eli names usable?

I’ve been considering using one of these as a MN for [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m], but I’m wondering if they’re too unusual (especially since [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] isn’t all that popular, himself). WDYT?

[name_m]Eliab[/name_m] (God is father)
[name_m]Eliam[/name_m] (God is my nation)

I love the meanings of both (particularly [name_m]Eliam[/name_m]!), and I’ve been saying them almost identical to [name_u]Elias[/name_u], with the “S” switched out. I’ve got other options I’m considering, but I’m really swooning over [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] [name_m]Eliab[/name_m] [name_m]Drury[/name_m] today.

Thanks, Berries!

Anyone?

I think both are usable, especially as middle names. I’d think his parents were either quite religious or Jewish if I learned a guy named [name_m]Eliab[/name_m]/[name_m]Eliam[/name_m] - it’s definitely not a bad thing, just my impression. I think [name_m]Eli[/name_m] can stand on its own as well, or there are the more familiar [name_u]Elias[/name_u], [name_u]Elisha[/name_u] and [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] if you have doubts. [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] [name_m]Eliab[/name_m] [name_m]Drury[/name_m] is fantastic!

I think both are great! I love [name_m]Eli[/name_m] names: [name_m]Eli[/name_m], [name_u]Elias[/name_u], [name_m]Elijah[/name_m], [name_u]Elisha[/name_u], [name_m]Eliezer[/name_m], [name_m]Eliam[/name_m], [name_m]Eliab[/name_m] are all great choices.

Thanks, everyone! [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] and [name_u]Elisha[/name_u] are some of the other options, as well–I was looking for a masculine alternative for [name_f]Eileen[/name_f] (to honor my sister), and I came to [name_m]Eliab[/name_m] and [name_m]Eliam[/name_m] before I got to [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] or [name_u]Elisha[/name_u] (they didn’t even occur to me until after I’d seen [name_m]Eliab[/name_m], [name_m]Eliam[/name_m], and [name_m]Elihu[/name_m]!). Though I am very religious, I didn’t go searching for them because they appear very religious. Does that make me less pretentious? But, on the other hand, I do like the very Hebrew feel of it–my best friend was Jewish, and I like that Hebrew names remind me of her.

As middle names, I see no reason why they can’t be a little unusual  Both of them have a nice sound to them, but I particularly like the sound of [name_m]Eliam[/name_m].

Thanks! Yeah, usually I don’t mind an unusual MN here or there (or really even everywhere), but since [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] would still be kind of crazy talk here, and the second MN would probably be a bit out there, too (like [name_m]Dashiell[/name_m] [name_m]Elihu[/name_m]/[name_m]Eliam[/name_m]/[name_m]Eliab[/name_m] [name_m]Drury[/name_m])–the [name_m]Eli[/name_m] names and [name_m]Drury[/name_m] all have family significance; I was just worried it was too much, in this particular instance.
