Are these names too close to friends' kids names?

We are expecting a baby boy in [name]September[/name].

We’ve always said we’d use [name]Henry[/name] for a boy’s name in some form.

Now that it’s time to choose and name, the two that I’m stuck on are [name]William[/name] [name]Henry[/name] (call him [name]Henry[/name]), and [name]Max[/name] [name]Henry[/name] (call him [name]Max[/name] [name]Henry[/name]). [name]William[/name], [name]Max[/name], and [name]Henry[/name] are all family names.

However - we live in a semi-small town, and there are several little boys that we know with similar names and my husband is concerned about it.

There’s a [name]Will[/name] [name]Henry[/name] that is probably 10, and several little boys named [name]Max[/name] (one close friend’s one year old - same town, non-close cousin on each side of our family - one 11 years old in town and one 4 out of state, and a 12 year old).

I don’t think we’ll be able to settle on a name that no one else has since we like classic / family names.

However - are either of these too close to use? I really want to use one or the other - probably [name]Max[/name] [name]Henry[/name], but don’t want to offend anyone or “copy”.

Since [name]William[/name], [name]Henry[/name] and [name]Max[/name] are pretty common names there is bound to be overlap in a small town like yours. I would advise you to choose the combo you love the most. You always have the excuse that they’re all family names. :slight_smile:

Yeah I agree, go with the one that you love most!

If they are the names you love and you don’t mind your little [name]Wiliam[/name] [name]Henry[/name] or [name]Max[/name] [name]Henry[/name] bumping into several others with the same name then go for it. If you are concerned about the close friend speak to her about it and see what she thinks, explain how much the names mean to you and go from there.

If she isn’t keen for you to use [name]Max[/name], [name]William[/name] [name]Henry[/name] is great choice but at the end of the day the decision is still yours.

I personally wouldn’t want to use the same names are several people within a small town but that’s just me and popularity means a lot to me.
