My name is [name]Alyssa[/name]. I adore the name [name]Elise[/name]. I’ve always considered it for a middle name but I think it would fit well on my first list. I think it goes well with [name]Claire[/name], our top choice for a girl. Are [name]Alyssa[/name] and [name]Elise[/name] too confusing? My sister may use it before I do but I do think it’s lovely.
[name]Alyssa[/name] (Uh-lis-uh . LI as in the word lip.)
[name]Elise[/name] (uh-leese)
Any ideas for middles? I like [name]Elise[/name] [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Jayne[/name] or [name]Elise[/name] [name]Zoe[/name] [name]Jayne[/name]
It is very similar, but what’s wrong with that? Fathers’ first names are often passed down to their sons letter for letter. You wouldn’t be naming your daughter your same exact name, but people would assume you named her after yourself in a creative way. I still see nothing wrong with that. If you think it would bother you, consider:
[name]Elsie[/name]
[name]Liesel[/name]
[name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Elspeth[/name]
[name]Elise[/name] and [name]Claire[/name] would make a great set for sisters! I agree that it is very close to [name]Alyssa[/name], but I don’t think it’s a huge problem if you love the name. [name]Do[/name] you go by a nn? [name]Elise[/name] and [name]Ally[/name] are not too close. As an alternative, [name]Eve[/name] sounds similar to [name]Elise[/name].
I quite like [name]Elise[/name] [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Jayne[/name] (although I prefer [name]Jane[/name]).
[name]Alyssa[/name] and [name]Elise[/name] are close, but what better namesake to have than her mother? I don’t think they are too close at all. [name]Elise[/name] could also go by [name]Ellie[/name] or [name]Ella[/name] which would create some more distance. In terms of middles, I like [name]Elise[/name] [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Jayne[/name], and better yet, [name]Elise[/name] [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Jane[/name].
[name]Jayne[/name] is my mom’s middle name so we plan on keeping that spelling. It’s funny because I originally had [name]Anneliese[/name] [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Jayne[/name] on my list. Maybe I should put it back on and call her [name]Elise[/name] for short…(husband is very stuck on the german pronunciation of that name though. )
I think it would actually be a cute way to honor you. I don’t think the closeness should be a problem since you are the mother of the child and not a sibling.
[name]Anneliese[/name] would be a nice compromise, but I prefer [name]Elise[/name] on its own. What about [name]Anne[/name]-[name]Elise[/name] or [name]Anna[/name]-[name]Elise[/name]?
